For you guys with man caves or dedicated smoking areas how do you dispose of your collection of ash and cigar butts? I smoke in our screened in porch and am looking for a better way to dispose of my ash and cigar butts rather then dumping out my ash tray on the ground outside. It leads to a collection of cigar butts outside the screen door and I’d like to find a cleaner way to deal with my trash and certainly a cleaner way given my sons free-range nature. Thanks in advance.

I toss mine in my chimenea.
If I'm in the garage, I'll shove them down the neck of whatever beverage I drank with it.
Sometimes, I just let them die out and then toss in the trash.

I toss mine out the window. Like Larry, there’s usually not too much left and they seem to dissapear pretty quickly out there.

Here in Colorado, we like to toss them into the wilderness and let them go out on their own, esp in the Waldo Canyon, and Black Forest areas.

but really, I let them die a natural death in the ash tray, then toss them in the garbage can (the one that goes to the curb, not an inside can)

Ash tray mainly. Then after a few days the tray gets emptied to the trash can. If I’m mowing or something else I fling them on the ground.

I made the trash smell bad, once. It seems cigars smell worse that rotting chicken flesh, at least according to the wife. Toilet is not a good idea, as any plumber will tell you. So I bought a trash can that remains outside, like the kind that one uses to put ashes from the wood-stove in.

I found an old extremely large shell casing. I'm sure someone in the military can identify it. The casing is about 30" tall and about 4" diameter at the base, tapered down to 3" at the mouth. I bought a 3" rubber cap to fit over the mouth and have a small, 3" cigar ashtray I sit on top. It's the perfect height for easy access from my recliner in the mancave. The small ashtray fills up fast, so I just pull the rubber cap off and dump the ashtray inside then replace the rubber cap. Repeat as necessary. Once the casing fills up I dump it into a plastic trash bag and throw the bag in with the rest of the garbage.

That’s what I was originally looking for but haven’t really found anything. What does yours look like and where did you find it?

Small galvanized trash can with lid. Sometimes called a shit can.;) Looks like a big galvanized trash can. You should be able to find one in a well equipped hardware store. I've had mine for years, before the plastic craze. You may have difficulty finding one, but I'm sure they're still available.

When the ash tray gets full, it goes in the dedicated trash can for the dog 'lawn cookies' and eventually out in the trash.

Its interesting you post this, 3 blocks from my house this happened

Friend of mine is saying they are leaning towards cigarette butts in a flower pot out back. Now I am reconsidering how I get rid of my cigars when I am done. I've searched Amazon for a fire proof option to leave them in until they are cold but nothing great yet has come up.

Edit: Maybe something like this?

The ash goes in the outside trash can and the butts goes into my Weber kettle. I don't use the Weber often but when I do, I always let the charcoal burn for at least 30 minutes anyways so I'm sure that all the butts are gone by then.

I smoke outside (in the gazebo) so the odor isn't an issue. I have a beat up Stinky ashtray so the butts go right in there and eventually go out. When it gets full, and after they are long cold, they go in the trash. No risk of fire that way; and, fresh dog s#!t isn't all that flammable, anyway.....:D

Not fire proof, but would definitely help snuff them out.

I have a hard time paying $90 for a trash can. If it were me, I'd buy this one: https://huntsestablishment.online/Page_i719820

Usally just let burn out in ash tray and empty ash tray into trash can when cool
