Conn. Broadleaf ???

Hello all. I need your help please for a short, practical explanation of what a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper is. Is it a maduro as I've heard, a darker richer maduro, not necessarily a maduro, etc.? Also, what other cigars is it used in making? Thanks & Best, piedpiper62

It's a thick, dark, oily leaf grown in the sun, packs a lot of flavor, and is typically used in maduros.

ETA: The leaf itself is not a "Maduro"..... To get to the stage of being a maduro, the leaf must age and ferment, ie., it doesn't come out of the ground as a maduro. Maduro doesn't refer to a type of leaf, it refers to a type of curing..... But yes, you are correct in that they are used for darker cigars.
