OK, so here's the way I see it, and maybe I'm alone in this thinking, who knows.

Some folks choose to do business with online shops that have the best prices. Others choose some of the online shops based on the quality customer service, or that the owners (or at least site admin) spend time here posting elsewhere besides what they have to sell.

You don't fall into either category. If you had taken the time to actually read the reply I wrote to your sales post last week, you might have wanted to respond, perhaps give some excuses, or at least stick up for yourself.

Your customer service, attention to detail, and follow through with my order was horrible. You failed in every way possible to get my order right, and when I spoke to you about it on the phone, made no effort to rectify or explain how you could have failed so badly.

Some folks here will just think I can't drop a grudge, or I'm just a salty old bastard, but hopefully others will decided it's best not to do business with a bunch of clowns like you.

Check out the posts and our responses to folks like Ian at Billboardtobacco.com, or Mr. Jerry with his coffee. Those guys are great, have spent loads of time becoming part of this community, and offer great deals as well. Or check out the deals and offers that Damian has (although we in the US can't take advantage of them). All three of these folks are making a great effort to earn our business.

Hey, Gonzo! Your response is one of the things that make this forum so important and of such high quality. The BOTLs and the FOGs here try to look out for each other, expose the scumbags and promote those vendors that they have found to be of high quality with good customer service(Viper and SeriuosCigars come to mind). Your experience is important because if the bastid will do it once, he will do it a hundred times. The guy should take a hike and go to some other forum. We should probably ban him from posting.

Gonz:
I posted a thread concerning my experience with the very same 'infamous' vendor in another board (HP). I thought I would bring it here to share with you my very own observation:

<Original posted date: Sat Feb 05, 2005 7:33 pm>

I ordered several times from CheaperCigars.com in the past. They shipped whatever they had in stocks at the time and they just ship you the OOS whenever the cigar came in and they do not call you to let you know that some of the items that you ordered is OOS. I remembered one experience from them: I ordered 2 boxes of the Montesino Sun-Grown wrapper, one Super Belicoso and Belicoso Magnum. Well, guess what, when I opened the package, it contained 2 boxes of the Belicoso Magnum. Of course, I was bewildered and pi$$ed at the same time. I called Mel and he said that since they did not have the Super Belicoso in stock so instead they shipped two boxes of the Montesino Sun-Grown Belicoso Magnum. I told Mel why on Earth I want to have two boxes of the same cigar for and also that they should have called me or send me an email stating the replacement purpose. He said that he will talk to the warehouse guys about this and get back to me. He never called me back. I decided to let it go anyway. I learned my experience...

Gonz and andrewhac,

Much Thanks coming from this Newb that, I kid you not was about to place an order. I will now continue my search :rolleyes:

One thing I have learned about online cigar buying - things do go wrong sometimes. How a vendor responds when this happens is critical. It's not worth the aggravation alone just to save $25 or so. Not to mention you might get screwed anyway. my .02

How did you find this 2+ year-old post and why did you respond now? LOL :laugh:

Because the vendor is about to post his deals again. It's a gift. :D

Unless we scared him off. :whistling:
