Hey guys.

I wanted to take a moment to recognize Padron. It seems to me that every cigar they produce is a quality product. From the regular Padron line all the way to the pricey Millennium. Does any other general market cigar manufacturer have a line that competes?

I agree....and while I agree with you as well, Gary, I think the Padrons are priced WAY better (at least in the regular and '64 line)
 
We were having this discussion at the local B$M, just the other day. No one could remember ever having a Padron that was plugged or otherwise un-smokable. I think I could say the same about Davidoff, but I'm a smoker not a hobbyist and although I enjoy their cigars immensely, it's more of a treat than a regular thing.

There are a number of wonderful, tasty smokes available. If I had to pick one and only one brand that I'd have to smoke for the rest of my days, it'd be Padron. No question.

And no, I've never had a plugged Padron.....though I did find a bright red piece of bailing twine in a 2000 several years ago.....:laugh:

I would add 1926 to that list as well. All of them are great smokes for the price and if you look at what Davidoff can charge for a smoke, they all seem downright reasonable.
 
Padron, agreed. Beyond the quality of their cigars, the Padron family are very good people.

Davidoff makes some incredible cigars, as well; but don't we all wish they were more affordable...
 
Well, now you are going to force me to try a Davidoff, but I have spent 5 months puffing everything that came up here on CP, and a few from some of the guys at the local B&M.

I could not agree more, Padron just flat hits it out of the park, and the price point you can not begin to argue with.
 
Over the past couple of years, the Padron cigars have changed from what they were (as have VSG's).

Now, some may say that cigars are 'natural' and a variance is allowed.

Well, how come most Fuente's have had the same profile for the last ten years(about the time frame I've smoked them from)....and the Davidoff's has been consistent as well.

Now...the salute in this thread is to 'Quality'...Davidoff, Padron, Fuente, Ashton...all the top level makers have quality smokes...not plugged, nice looking, etc.

When it gets down to consistence in profile...that's where I see where my money goes.

For those looking at the price tag, don't forget, Davidoff also has the Zino line. A little lighter but a very nice smoke!

To clarify a bit guys, I was referencing taste as well as construction when I said quality. The regular Padron line and all the Anniversary lines are all quite popular in both fields I believe.

I found a Blue piece of twine in a Delicias! :laugh:

Yeah, if I had to live with one for the rest of my life, it could very be Padron. :love:

And I have had one plugged padron, and it was a 1964 "A". Damn shame. :(

You will find quite a few people that disagree with this point as far as the Opus line goes.
 
I'd rather smoke a Padron than just about anything else (that doesn't mean I don't smoke anything else). I love the cigars, but like Mick said, the Padron family have impressed me a great deal.

I just smoked a PAM from 2002 that was wonderful. :love:
 
I sure love Padron. In a few weeks I am going to smoke my first 1926.

Good point. Alas, the Zino Premium robusto is still twice the price of a 2000.

But lets be honest. How often do you hear anything about a Zino on here? The only Zinos discussed are the high end ones and its usually ridicule for being so over priced.
