I've got a bad habit of buying new fancy lighters and having them fail on me. My favorite before was a st dupont minijet. Beautiful lighter, but now it leaks immediately after filling and is scary as hell to light. Out of warranty and the authorized repair shop wants $75 plus $15 shipping...

I remember a cigar meet up in Holland and amazingly no one brought a cutter. So I used my teeth. Everyone looked at me like I was a barbarian haha. Seconds later of course they find one.

One thing I found with the Xikar Xi cutters is that the xi2 and xi4 cuts aren't as nice as the xi1 & xi3. Maybe it's just me but I found a world of difference between them and how they cut. My Xikar .008 or whatever it was called punch was supposed to be my go to. No matter how careful I am...

I've got an old standard Palio somewhere in a pile of stuff needing to be sent for repair. The plastic track got a bit of a bend from really light use and won't close all the way (hard to describe). Still sharp as all hell but it won't finish the cut. Thanks for the reminder!

Thanks. I actually found the crystals shown in the pic and ordered them just now. This hydra has been interesting. First year it was flawless. Now I've had to adjust the hygrometer to the extreme to be accurate, and seem to have to fill it a few times a month (I'm hoping it was due to winter)...

I know this is ancient, but this was exactly what I've been looking for. Have any of you had any issues since using these crystals?
