Stay away from Polk. Not very well thought of in the audiophile community. Klipsch has lovers and haters. Trust your ears. I like Vandersteen. I have a pair of 2Ci. I've had them for nearly 20yrs. the current model is 2Ce. Around 2 grand.

I was leaning on buying a pair of Klipsch RF-52 II speakers for around $600. Plus I wouldn't want to kill any of my kids for busting up a 2k Vandersteen.

I still have my 4 JBL 4412s from the 1980s that I bought while in the service, so I haven't looked for anything else.
