    Non-cuban equivalent of Partagas Shorts?

Excellent, I'll give them a try, thanks.

    Non-cuban equivalent of Partagas Shorts?

I've tried the Tatuaje, they're too sweet for me. Yeah, I realize there's nothing that'll quite match the flavor of the PS's, was hoping for an acceptable approximation though.

    Non-cuban equivalent of Partagas Shorts?

I'm almost out of Partagas Shorts, which are one of my favorite cigars, and my usual source is out of stock. Is there a non-Cuban cigar that closely matches the Partagas Short?

Wine fridge (w/condenser), humidity problems, solution?

It stays right around 65F, actually. The problem isn't swings in temperature, it's swings in RH caused by the condenser. Well right now, the RH inside the wood humidor in the fridge stays at 65%. Should I care what the RH in the rest of the fridge is? (That's the main question of my thread...

Wine fridge (w/condenser), humidity problems, solution?

I'm in Nor. Cal., so a "hot day" here is in the high 80s, low 90s. That's probably a dozen or two dozen days out of the summer. Most days in the summer range from the mid 60s to the mid 80s or so. I'm trying to get the fridge to keep a constant temp around 65F with 65% RH if possible. The...

Wine fridge (w/condenser), humidity problems, solution?

I'm a bit confused about how changing the thermostat would solve the problem. The fridge is still using a compressor/condenser to chill the air, right?

Wine fridge (w/condenser), humidity problems, solution?

Hey all, Thanks for the feedback. The unit in question is a Magic Chef 45-Bottle Wine Cooler, Model No. MCWC45A. As far as where the water goes, I don't know, but every time the compressor kicks in, the RH drops dramatically. It isn't a problem on cool days, but on hot days, it's a very...

Wine fridge (w/condenser), humidity problems, solution?

Gah... it would appear I did not research this thoroughly enough beforehand. I recently got a wine cooler to hold my cigars, but every time the compressor/fan goes on, the humidity basically goes to zero. After searching around here, I gather that I made a big mistake by getting a condenser...

Getting the plasticky smell out of a new wine cooler?

Any ideas? I've tried washing it with a moist cloth several times, letting it sit open for an extended period with a fan in front of it, etc. No luck so far.

How long can they sit around outside the humidor?

Thanks all. Too big a shipment for tupperware or jars! I did some searching here, and got inspired to rig up a small cooler with a couple humidifiers. That ought to do the trick for now. I'm just getting back into cigars seriously after a long hiatus where I only smoked a handful per year. It...

How long can they sit around outside the humidor?

I just got a shipment of very nice sticks. Unfortunately my humidor is full. A new one is on the way, but it'll be a few days before it's arrived and cured. How long can my cigars sit around before they'll be adversely affected? RH here is between 40-50%, temp at 70-75 F. thanks.

Did I get burned on these LE's ISOMs

I'll post a photo of the bottom of the box w/the code when I get home this evening. But I'm pretty sure they're genuine, now. There were several little papers in the box, looked very official, but I tossed 'em. (Have to wait until I open another box.) Thing is, I thought I was no longer too...

Did I get burned on these LE's ISOMs

Here are some hi-res photos, hope somebody can confirm that these are real: Cigars with box Closeup OK, this makes sense now. I am just coming off a very bad cough and cold. I really hope this is the case. Anybody else ever have this problem?

Did I get burned on these LE's ISOMs

OK, hold on a second... I was so disappointed that I had to go for a real cigar, lit up a 1964 Padron Exclusivo. I've smoked many of these before (this was the last in its box), and always found it to be an absolutely fantastic cigar. It tasted just like the Montecristo... like crud. What...

Did I get burned on these LE's ISOMs

Bought some LE Montecristo Sublimes 2008. These are supposed to be great cigars. Box, bands, everything looks totally genuine, but they taste like nothing, completely flat. Anyone else run into these? Would appreciate a PM from somebody who can give me a clue. I could post some photos if...

What do you drink when smoking a cigar?

By the way, I like to think I started the cigar and Diet Coke thing. I made this post more than 12 years ago on the alt.smokers.cigars Newsgroup. Any other veterans of ASC here? Here's my original post: PS - I've come a long way since the Macanudos...

What do you drink when smoking a cigar?

Wow, I thought I was the only one into the Diet Coke thing! My favorite is actually to have Diet Coke (gotta be in the can still) to cleanse the palate, along with a glass of really good tawny port or colheita.

    Reviews at cigars-review.org

I'm curious to know what people think of the reviews and rankings at this site: http://www.cigars-review.org/topcigars.htm Are these generally reliable reviews, if someone was looking for the best cigars they could find (with reasonable ease)? Any cigars that should absolutely be on that...

Questions about long-term storage and aging

You're right, that Google search feature seems to work better. Here's the most relevant thread I found on the box issue: http://www.cigarpass.com/forums/index.php?...aded&start= Consensus seems to be keep them in the box. I do have one box already opened, so I will age those as singles, and...

Questions about long-term storage and aging

I've got several boxes of top quality Limited Editions, along with several dozen miscellaneous loose singles. I'm planning to have them around for a few years. Questions about the best way to store them long-term: Right now, I've got several boxes that are still sealed shut. Is it better to...
