Just for that, I'm unloading John Tesh's new bozuki fusion jazz album on you. And bet ya didn't know Tiny Tim also recorded a jazz session with the Miles Davis Quintet. Yeah, you're getting that too. :p

My music puts are as follows. The comments are mine.

1. Freddie Hubbard - Live at Fat Tuesday's, double CD, on Jazz Heritage
This is one of my favorite Hubbard albums. The track "First Light" is an utterly transcendant jam that sweeps you away on wave after wave of mystic revelation from Hubbard's horn supported by Benny Green on keys. I trip out of body every time I jam to this!

2. Clifford Jordan - Live at Ethell's, on Mapleshade
Just an amazing, amazing saxaphonist and a luminous recording filled with ambience. His version of the Strayhorn tune "Lush Life" is, for me, the finest ever rendition of the tune in the sense of what the song really means. This song, with surprise vocals form Jordan, is the very essence of cigars, martinis, and jazz. I auditioned a set of Wilson Audio WATT Puppy V driven by Krell electronics and this was one of the discs I brought. To this day, that was one of the most memorable experiences I've ever had listening to recorded jazz. Unreal!

3. Thomas Chapin - You Don't Know Me, on Arabesque Jazz
Another fluid, and talented saxman. This was one of his last, if not the last work recorded before his unfortunate passing at a too early age. The theme is exotic Africa and the tunes range from the ebullient to the contemplative. The sounds may be from another land, but the heart is pure jazz. I can imagine Chapin blowing on "Goodbye" from where all great jazzmen go after this world.

4. Arne Domnérus Band - Jazz at the Pawnshop, on Prophone
One of the essential audiophile jazz albums. Often used by reviewers from Stereophile and The Absolute Sound to show off an almost eerie soundstage and holographic presence. Beyond that, it's just a great, stompin' quintet album recorded live in an intimate setting at the Stampen Jazzclub in Stockholm in September of 1976. Listen for the ethereal vibework by Lars Erstrand on "I'm Confessin.'"

5. John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman - .John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman, on Jazz Heritage
If what you know of Coltrane is from albums such as A Love Supreme or Giant Steps, prepare to be surprised. This recording is part of Trane's ballad work and teaming up with Johnny Hartman results in one of the smoothest, sweetest, and most languid works in jazz balladry. The first track "They Say It's Wonderful" takes you and your lover to a place dimly lit, smoky, and ripe for slow dance romance. If this album doesn't make you want to grab your sweetie and snuggle, you're probably dead.

6. Lee Morgan - The Procrastinator, on Blue Note
This is an album of coooooool jazz. Grab your Raybans, slap on a porkpie hat and sit back with a Manhattan. This album is not nearly as lush as some of the other selections on my sampler but it is straight-up, clear, clean and takes you to a place that where you can just shut your eyes and groove. Check out "The Procrastinator" and "Party Time" as the cool stepping twins that start off this session.

7. Various Artists - The Famous Sound of Three Blind Mice, on Three Blind Mice
Japanese jazz. How many of you knew there was a jazz scene in Japan? Yup. The TBM label brings us some of the finest recorded and engineered artists from the land of the rising sun. On this sampler, you'll hear ensembles ranging from trios to big band and original compositions as well as standards like "Misty." Check out the otherworldly "Aqua Marine" or the grooving "Alone Together" which features George Mraz. There are in fact jazz enclaves in places one would never guess and this album showcases the quirky but true styles of the Japanese scene.

Hey Wilkey, it looks like were going to need to send it to Brickhouse instead of bmd34202 right now. Also Brickhouse has a new mailing address so we need to get that first.

Hey guys,

I just checked the main thread and saw that the next recipient, bmd34202 is out of town from 3/5-3/8. I'm wondering if I should hold off on shipping until Tuesday, 3/6 so it can get there either 3/8 or 3/9, Friday or Saturday.

Let me know what you think.

If I don't hear back by about noon, I'll hold it till tomorrow as I am in lab and class from 1PM until 8PM today.

I don't think one day is going to do any harm, and that way things can keep on track and there's no potential for confusion.
 
My plan was to do a little change in the pass order, Ginseng can go ahead and sent to Brickhouse and then Brickhouse will send it to BMD. I'll update the first page to reflect the change.
