0103 8555 7499 3861 0903 Headed back across the country!!!!!

Ah man! I'm in a total quandry? Do I include my Kenny G boxed-set? Uh... the agony. I better figure this one out quick. Not much time left.

Hey Cuppajack... are you on deck. We should meet up so I don't have to ship this thing again and we can just send it on. Maybe we can get our P/Ts done together at the same time? Perhaps David could chime in and let us know if this would be cool. Thanks...

...now where's that Kenny G hiding?

We're talking a four stick penalty if any Kenny G makes it into this Vine

That's works for me if you guys want to meet up and do P&T's.

Ummm.... check out #99...

...
97. Kansas City Jazz Orchestra -- "Take One"
98. Keiko Matsui- Wildflower
99. Kenny G. "Classics in the Key of G"

Thanks, David  But I think I'll do my best to avoid the four stick penalty

It does look like I will hand-deliver the pass to Cuppajack after I do my P&Ts. Box hasn't arrived yet, but I'll post my P&T proposals later today or tomorrow morning.

Now I gotta think about the music... Oh Boy! This is really gonna be tough for me actually. Does the Dreamgirls soundtrack count as jazz? ???

I thought I had some India Arie, but now I can't find it....
How about Erykha Badu?

Here is a tentative list of music I'll be adding:

1 John Coltrane – Giant Steps
2 Mahavishnu Orchestra – Birds of Fire
3 Miles Davis – E.S.P.
4 Miles Davis – Bitches Brew
5 Miles Davis – My Funny Valentine + 4 and More the Complete Concert 1964 (2 disks)
6 Medeski, Martin, and Wood – Shack Man
7 Medeski, Martin, and Wood – Uninvisible
8 Al DiMeola – Casino
9 Al DiMeola – Scenario
10 Bjork Gudmundsdottir (yes, THAT Bjork) – Gling-Glo
11 Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong – Jazz ‘Round Midnight
12 Ella Fitzgerald – Johnny Mercer Songbook
13 Thelonious Monk – Brilliant Corners
14 DJ Logic – Project Logic
15 DJ Logic – The Anomaly
16 John Mclaughlin – Heart of Things
17 Simon Philips and Jeff Babko – Vantage Point
18 Greyboy – Mastered the Art

DJ Logic! He spun at the brewery I worked for a few times. I got to be the green room bartender...I remember very little of those evenings :whistling:  . I even have a signed copy of Project Logic on vinyl. It's great to see the vine getting away from all of the classics and into the experimental as well. I put the MD Bitches Brew Sessions on there already so you may want to save disc. Christ guys, I cannot wait to have this thing come back through. On a jazzy side note, my webmaster was telling me about an internet radio site called the Spirit of KJAZ. Certainly worth checking out.

Linky

Edited to add link.

This is quite a large collection of tunes!
I've already told the wife and kids to look into a very large capacity external hard drive for my birthday.

That is awesome!

I have his newest disc around here somewhere too... my digital media library is really f'ed up after 2- computer deaths and a move. If I can find it I'll add it as well.

I got in to him from his work w/ M,M, and W and love his solo stuff. I wasn't sure how 'out-there' i should go, but I'm stoked to see another DJ Logic fan!

plus 5 compilations

David, If I'm not out of line, it's occured to me more than once that this has become an enormous undertaking for you to compile and transfer this unbeleivable collection of music. The time and expense of burning, and mailing all of these disc's is going to be outrageous. Rather than burning and mailing them all, would it be more feasible to upload them to an FTP site and we could download the collection ourselves? The problem would be finding a free or low cost FTP site that would allow us enough space for all of this music. My FTP only allows 20meg otherwise I'd have already begun uploading what I have.

Another option might be for each of us to kick in a few dollars to help defer the expense once you calculate what they'll be. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Does David really need to "compile" anything?
Maybe just send out all the discs together (as they were in the pass) to each participant and let them ingest whatever they want. Links to the contents of each disc are on page one, right?

Now that's just too easy. If I can't over think something, I don't what I'd do.

Anyway, Hey look at at all that music, that's a lot of music, ignore the complcated musings of an overthinking under acheiver. Just look at all that music... nothing to see here, move along, the shows over... :whistling:

   ....... what The Captain said, I'm simply ripping everything to my HD, adding my music and cigars, repackaging and resending all "200andsomething :0 " discs back out on the road. I'll probably look for a large folder type case that can hold all "200andsomething :0 " discs and fit inside of a reasonbly sized box, I was thinking that maybe a price fixed box would be best at this point as well.

You know, it just occurred to me that I forgot to post the DC number after I mailed the box.

Sorry guys!

Wow! What a collection of music! I am so looking forward to expanding my musical horizons.

Thanks for putting this together NorCal!
