Hailey
Rottweiler
Female, 1-2 yrs

Lovely Lady, Hailey, offers everything that is good about this breed. She is friendly, gentle, and calm. Although she doesn't seem to know her commands yet (she's learning), her inherent good nature and great manners make her responsive to our wishes nonetheless. When she hears her name in a pleasant, inviting voice, she turns and offers her big happy grin, delighted and grateful for your attention.

She walks beautifully on the leash, even though with her strength, she could certainly take a slight person for a tow. And she really seems to enjoy walking along with her person, as well as other dogs. While she is very good with other dogs, given a choice, she certainly prefers the attention of a person.

So - I went to the pound and a pup found me!

Hailey listens - somewhat - know's 'sit' and 'heal'.

I've been told she like to chase motorcycles and eat small , we'll have to work on that!

Pick up is scheduled for 10 am this Sat - figures....right in the middle of my tee-time....

Right on Gary  , rescue dogs are the best. I think they realize just how bad it could be and appreciate a good home.

Beautiful pup, great breed. May you have many wonderful years of friendship.

X2 and they are less prone to hip cancer and the like

Awesome Gary! Can't wait for her and Kacey to meet!
Now...what does that sentence...like to chase motorcycles and eat small.....
Small what? If small dogs...well, Her and Kacey will not get along terribly well.

Good luck with the pickup! now get to work fencing in that yard!

Gary good luck with the new girl in your life. Before you know it she'll have you wrapped around her little paw! She already is cutting into your golf, LOL.

Hey Gary,

Congrats on the new puppy!
Say, what shelter did you get her at? I'm looking for a dog and you're almost right next door!

we rescued our second golden to be a companion for you older one and he's great. Enjoy and good luck but you probably won't need it!

I looked at a bunch of shelters around Central CT.
The Humane Scociety and Local dog wardens had the least expensive adoption fee (form $100 and under).
The 'Shelters' and 'Kennels' tended to cost upwards of $250-$500.

This dog was part of Protectors of Animals. A group in central CT. Hailey was actually kenneled in my home town - right down the rode from my house...too funny!

Use Petfinder to help narrow the search. Puppies go fast.

Congrats Gary!
I hope she likes cigar smoke!

When she hears her name in a pleasant, inviting voice, she turns and offers her big happy grin, delighted and grateful for your attention
Did this have anything to do with it?
Seems like they were marketing her just for you.

Nice Rottie Gary! I have a female that's 8 now and she's the sweetest dog I've ever had......very protective of my son, but that's their nature.

Funny you should mention that...it did catch my eye!

I had one for a couple years when I was growing up (female) and my relative has a one now (male).

Training, Training, Training!!!

Thanks for the info Gary!

Rotties are awesome, I've never (even after working in a kennel) had any issue with one.
Obviously there's a reason why these dogs have a bad rap, but it's over-propegated by fear.

Good luck with the pickup, don't forget to bring some treats!

Beautiful dog. It's great to hear that you adopted her. A lot of people aren't willing to go that route.

Very true. As long as you treat the dog right and she knows who's the boss you will have an incredible pet.

But it sounds like you already know that.
