If I'm gonna pay 32 bucks for a lonsdale, it had better be a few years old and wrapped in gold foil.

I greatly respect General Cigar Co. because of its history in my home state, but it seems to me these special offerings are getting sillier and sillier.

I know the wrapper has been "cloistered" and all, but c'mon...

Oh ferchrissakes. Sounds like another Edicion de Silvio type thing. No thanks. I'll take the cost of three of those things and buy myself a nice box of Padron 3K maddies.

Wilkey

Looks like they are trying to get a piece of the holiday action coming up in a few months. Before it seemed like it was only Prometheus with the limited release gift sets.

Each Stradivarius cigar will be individually presented in a wooden coffin, which is closed with a protective wax seal and adorned with ribbon. The collection's three frontmarks will be available for purchase as individual cigars, or in humidor-quality boxes which house ten cigars each.

What, no lace doily?? No BJ?? I'm not buying!

I'd give you the review of the one I smoked but it didn't have any flavor! None, nothing at all to describe. Worse than a Macanudo, at least it has a dimension of cardboard to it.

Owner of my B&M gave me one of these to try last night. It wasn't a dog rocket, but it's not worthy of a box buy, in my humble opinion. Smokeable, maybe even okay as a morning smoke for some, but the price isn't justified. If you're intent on spending that kind of money, get Davidoff Anniversario number 1s instead.

It's kind of funny reading the replies to this thread. My B&M carries these, but the owner himself was telling me that it is way overpriced and not really worth it unless you want to pay for the fancy coffin it comes in. He only carries it because this is a tourist town and the snowbirds as we refer to them will come in and buy them thinking that since the price is so high they must be a top notch cigar.

Smoked one last night. Wasn't a 30 dollar cigar. I found one in my humi, from a recent purchase. I will say I enjoyed this cigar and would smoke more. Extremely well rounded and smooth. I was dissapointed at first, as the cigar progressed it opened up. I would pay about 8-10 a stick.

Ditto Shooter. Gifted to me by my local who is selling it for $34 (the robusto), probably a $15 cigar IMO. Did have more complexity in the orange peel and anise flavors than I expected. Nice and smooth, smoke 'em if you get them as a present.

Nice box though - great display box.

That is a ridiculous price for a cigar....maybe for some older and harder to find ISOMs, but certainly not for this. They are everywhere...not terribly hard to find at all (not that that means anything in regards to taste), but reminds me of all of the Gurkha sillyness in all honesty. You are paying for fancy packaging and the illusion of rarity. Not the smoke itself, which by all accounts doesn't seem to knock anyone out.

Hey why not? The Padrons and Fuentes have got sticks in that range and up and not too much bitching is heard. Why not General? You can't blame them for taking a shot. Time wil tell if they sell them or if we'll see them in JR catalog in the future for 8 bucks a piece.

Dead on with that comment. I did notice both of those, very different from any smoke I have had. I got just a little vanilla in there also. Over all like I said very smooth and satisfying. Who knows maybe I can catch a box on sale.
