I purchased and smoked an Oliva Serie V lancero at the B&M. Haven't had many of that size, but recently I am starting to like those smaller ring gages. Surprisingly, tons of smoke from the little bugger. I will revisit that one for sure. Also picked up a CAO America torp. that will get torched later today. I haven't tried that one yet. Any beverage recommendations for that one?

edit:meant to put this in "What's your latest purchase". Still trying to get acclimated!

The Oliva V is a great smoke. Havn't been able to try it in a lancero yet though. As for the America, mine seemed like it was almost dry, even though it was kept right, just didn't have much flavor and the burn was not good either. Not sure as to what drink would go with it, smoke another V instead! lol

Tsk, tsk, tsk. Another newbie sucked in by the allure of the lancero. Don't you realize these cigars are for swarthy, thin mustachioed, Panama hat wearing pimps. What of your reputation? Your standing in the community? How many times must I warn you people. Leave the lanceros to us sailors who care not.

Doc.

Ah, the Lancero. There are some dandies out there, you're just beginning to scratch the surface.

I must say, the lancero is a great size, and the Oliva serie V lancero is a good cigar at a great price. Definitely premium at a yardgar price.

I am very fond of the Sancho Panza Double Maduro Lancero cigars. For the life of me these are the most robusto sized lanceros I have ever smoked!

True, a certain libertine flair is required to handle such a laughably disproportionate shape, but I could not eschew an entire vitola merely because of self-consciousness whilst smoking. Regarding my reputation and standing in the community, my consigliere will address any concerns.

Add another newb to the list. I bought 2 today. I haven't smoked them, so I can't say that I like them, but I'm thinking I might. There goes what little bit of a good reputation I had left (the little bit that was left from what I lost when I started smoking cigars that is).

The lancero format is my favorite. At first, I felt a little weird smoking it with people around. Now, I'm getting use to it. LFD lanceros are the best NC in my book.

I haven't tried an Oliva lancero, but I going to source some of these out. The price range looks good.

I have tossed more lanceros due to tight draw then any other vitola. It gets old after awhile.

Just got the word tha Jose' Olivia jr. will be a 2 Guy's Cigar at the NH seacoast store in Seabrook this Fri. from 10 to 6pm featuring the Serie V cigars. I think this might be a worhwhile event. See you there if you can make it.

I love the Oliva Series V. The Lancero is quite tastey and the draw is awsome.

Lancero is the very best size...for almost any smoke IMHO!!!

I'm digging Lanceros, and i'm a Opus ho, but the Opus Lancero i'm not wild about, smoked 2 and meh, the LFD Lanceros were tastier, to me...

Just the fact that they come 36 to a box, and you can find a box for under $120 if you look around, make this cigar a great deal imo. Definitely a premium cigar for the "yardgar" price point. To add more to the fire, I think the V series is the best regular production from Oliva to date, but again, that's just me.
