The weather outside is perfect for grilling and someone mentioned hot dogs earlier and I'm just dying to have one now. with that being said......

Hillbilly Steaks perfect hot dog
nathans all beef dog grilled, on a toasted wheat bun.
Topped with
Zesty Dill Pickle Spear
leftover homemade Chili
jalapeno slices
shredded colby jack cheese
drenched in tabasco Chipotle hot sauce.

what is your perfect hotdog??

A real Nathan's from Coney Island! Nothing like them in the world! Dressings optional, but must have spicy brown mustard

I don't know what it is that they do to them at baseball stadiums to make them so tasty, but I love them. Maybe it's just sitting out at a baseball game that makes them taste better.

For me, any dog topped with chili, cheddar cheese, chopped onions, and a touch of Frank's Red Hot Xtra hot sauce.

I figured you'd go for something with more spice:

From when I grew up: Grote & Weigel - boiled, on a bun w/ketchup and kraut.

No: same...only with spicy mustard and kraut!

Papaya King with 1with red onions 1 with spicy brown mustard and a large papaya mango

Best dog I've ever had was a Chicago dog @ Wrigley. Not sure how it compares to other dogs in Chicago, but it was a combination of the hotdog and first time being at Wrigley.

Smith's natural casing dogs with onion, pickles, ketchup and mustard.

Damn I hope Spring gets here soon.

A Grote&Weigel old fashioned style Steamed ala baseball style in a Arnolds Top Split bun with yellow mustard, onions and cheese sauce(grew up on these in CT).....or a Two Greys Papaya and and a papaya whip on B'way and 72nd street....or as Tone-ny said an original Coney Island

Agree with you there. Even the Nathan's from the grocery stores are damn good...even better with Coleman's English mustard.

Mine is pretty simple. Sabrett's hot dog, boiled. Light mustard, topped with lots of onions in sauce. Sprinkle lightly with crushed red pepper.

Edited to add:
A close second is a good Chicago dog. Being from New York, I couldn't understand why anyone would want to put so much junk on a perfectly good dog...until I tried one.

pffft Chicago Style hotdog is the only way. Either Vienna or Koshers Best. amatuers!

When it comes to hot dogs, if it ain't Kosher, I ain't eating it. I like Nathan's, but they're a little salty, I prefer Hebrew National, they answer to a higher authority then the USDA.

Doc.

The only problem with that is I don't want to eat a hot dog with a fork and knife
Give me a dog cooked on a flat top with a bit of spicy brown any day.

"Ambassador" Old Fashion Skin on Weiner's.

I think you can only find them in Minnesota...maybe Scony as well
