The Musical Cheese Pass

Oh, oh ...... I think there may be a little confusion here, there may be two cheese packages headed my way ??? . I received a very nice selection of smokes from Dean (tasman) today, no cheese yet, but I think AngryFishH is supposed to be sending me something. Perhaps our host can help shed some light on the subject.

I have had zero luck finding my submitted cheese OR smokes in the little podunk I live in, so Mine will be mail order shipped today. My apologies to the recipient for the delay, as I was hoping to add a personal touch to the MCP package. I'll send the personal touch in a separate package.

Looks like we might actually warm up this coming week. If so, I'll get your cheese smoked and out to you. We finally had a high temp yesterday.... got all the way UP to -2. but then back to -22 last night :angry: Funny thing is that's the warmest temp in over two weeks!

My smoker won't work until it hits about 20 above due to the electronic controls and moving parts (smoker chip feeder), so as soon as we hit the magic temp that sucker'll be fire up and chugging out the smoked goodies.

Ruh ro, Shaggy! Your ever so humble ( ??? ) host, moi, effed up. I was attempting to head off a situation with Dean not being able to send cheese and double entered NCCl on my chart. Sorry. :whistling: Let's see if I can get ahold of Howard and turn this around. :cool:

EDITED TO ADD UPDATE: I just spoke to Howard, he'll hold off on sending his PIF to David and I'll redirect as required. I'll update ASAP. Thanks for your patience and understanding. :D

OK - So I've figured it out. :blush: Seems I failed to follow up on Cheese Choices for 2 participants, our BOTLs Putz_Mulligan & Stepthirteen. My sincere apology Charlie & James.
I have a solution that involves Charlie, James, & the two other BOTL that will be sending Cheese PIFs. The 2 BOTLs that have no assigned PIF recipient are shipping Locatelli & Smoked Cheddar, so Charlie & James please post your choice here in the thread and we can wrap this Cheese Launch up, so to speak. :D

As for those of you who have not launched your Cheese PIF yet, no worries, life gets in the way for everyone. Relax, catch your breath, & send your cheese 'n sticks. ;)
As for those of you who have received your Cheese PIFs, let us know what you thought of your Cheese with a review please. Include whether or not you enjoyed one of the cigars included with the PIF at the same time as well. :) Maybe some pictures... :cool:

I tried out one of my cheeses the other day. It's still cold as a mutha down here, so I broke the rules a bit and did not have it with a cigar.

My cheese choice was the Habenaro Pepper Jack (still need to try it). But Gary (sonuvabum) included a Chipotle in the package as well, and I've been eatin' the hell outta that.

My wife my home made vegetable soup on Saturday, and chunked up a bunch of it and put it in my soup. Then I held another piece in my hand and used as sort of a "scoop" to get vegetables and meat on my spoon....I think you get the idea.

Anyway, it's flippin' awesome!!!!! Loving it.

As I told Wyatt, I haven't actually had the Chipotle Chedder myself. I literally saw it as I was walking to the check out and thought it would be a nice addition.

Dang!! Now I got to go get me some.

No worries Jim, I trust ya :sign: I'm trying to convince the wife that we need to head to the Wine Herf, so if that happens, you can just hand it off in person, LOL.

No cheese on this end yet, and now I'm worried that it isn't going to make it. Today we had temperatures in the mid 70's if you can believe it. I'm afraid that if it's sitting in a truck somewhere that it's going to be ripe. It's cool though, I don't want it to be resent as I don't particular want to see more money spent on a chance it'll make it. I'll let you know how it looks, or smells, when it gets here Dean. Oh, the cigars are AWESOME!!!! I can't wait to smoke these.

It looks like my cheese left the company today and should be there tomorrow ..... I hope it makes it.

I got some excellent sticks from Josh (Napa Smokes) but the cheese has not arrived yet. Will review ASAP.
 
Ate some of the Pepper Jack w/ Habanero tonight....ate it straight with an Ugly Pug Brew (outstanding by the way).

Holy crap that stuff is HOT!!!! It was great though.

Then my wife made chimichangas so I had her grate some into each of mine as well and melt it. Outstanding!

I've got two new favorite spicy cheeses :)
 
Pepper Jack w/Habanero? Hmm...might need to locate some. I just bought a half pound of Pepper Jack that had angry peppers in it, but not in the habanero range.

Bro it was hot! My wife took a little scoop of it after grating to try and started coughing a bit, ROFL.

I thought it was great though. The flavor was top notch and it had PLENTY of heat.
 
I hope the deep freeze we are under and the fact that I am gone for a few days doesn't cause any problem.......Theresa will be home Wednesday night. If anyone is concerned about a nice piece of pecorino freezing just PM me and I will have a neighbor grab it.

As it turned out, my brother in law (Mysterea) chose my cheese and as it turned out I was visiting him in Mass. last week so I hand delivered his cigars and cheese. Like the great guy he is, he shared it with all of us.
