Am I the only one here that is seeing this the way it really looks? Yea Gahau has gone about this the wrong way and certainly isn't making any friends like this, but he was told that the moldy stick would be replaced. You don't just say "I'll send you something at a later time". If you send something out that someone has a problem with, you fix it....immediately!

Ben came out and called out Sean for not sending some sticks out......

Gahau saw what had transpired and going through basically the same thing, he called out Ben for not coming through with the promise of replacing a moldy stick after a month....

Yea, Gahau seems to be using the "martyr" routine, but at the same time, Ben should clean this situation up regardless of whether or not it's been said that he doesn't have to fix it....it's a matter of principle.

If you say you're going to do something, be a man of your word and do it.

If he's trolling, he's doing a good job of it. I honestly believe that Gahau is just going about things the Wrong Way and needs to learn about being direct. Being direct allowed Ben to have his problem resolved quickly, and he now has the sticks he was promised. Gahau was not, and has waffled on what is required to remedy the situation, allowing him to disparage Ben's reputation throughout this thread.

Several people have offered to send a stick just to silence Gahau, and he has not taken up these offers. In his last post, he starts accusing the board of being emotional and reverses his stance, offering to send Ben some sticks. This is classic pre-meltdown behavior of someone who Doesn't Get It, and I expect to see Gahau do something that will get him moderator-intervention (ban/suspension/b-slapping) within three months.

First of all gahau should have come right out from the start and stated the problem, instead of his cryptic messages, and his unspoken shots at b. dawson. Also, if you read the PM exchange between the two that he posted, he only mentioned the moldy stick as a "heads up" to b. dawson to check his humi. He never once asks for the stick to be replaced. He also says multiple times, "I don't want a replacement". Gahau needs to man up and state exactly what he wants. If he wants a replacement stick, then just say so. If he doesn't he needs to drop it, and quit chasing b. dawson around flaming him. I agree that you, or I, or someone who has been around the board for a while would make it right immediately. Someone fairly new may not understand that protocol.

It's obvious to me that gahau wants a replacement stick by his actions, despite what his words say. Gahau, grow a pair, and just state what you want or let it die.

Hey, I totally understand what you're saying Brent, but shouldn't the man that called someone else out for dropping the ball, be held to the same standards he's looking for? Regardless of what Gahau has or hasn't said about wanting a replacement.

To me, it's pretty shitty to call someone out for not sending out a prize while at the same time the same person sent out a moldy stick saying " I'll send you a replacement, you just won't know when or what"?? Is that how you would have handled it? If I sent something out that was damaged or moldy. I would be mortified and would have taken care of it immediately and not "whenever" like Ben stated.


No, I'm not defending Gahau, yes, I think he is a troll, but I'm bringing up the principle of what it good for you, should be good for someone else...especially after something like this.
 
Brian, I think we are on the same page here, I just think Gahau has been sitting on this waiting for his chance to "embarrass" Ben. I dislike that just as much as I dislike someone sending a bad stick and not replacing it.

Ben, send him a replacement stick. If you can't, or don't have something to send him PM me, and I'll cover it for you. Gahau, someway, somehow you will get a replacement stick in the next week to 10 days. After that, let it drop.

We are Brent. The Gahau situation and antics aside, you just don't say that "at some point" I'll take care of the problem. Be honorable and fix your problem immediately....not when it suits you.
 
Jonesy, it wasn't that I just didn't feel like sending him a replacement. This transpired right after I had been told that PIFing with a stick that had been PIFed or gifted wasn't the same as gifting a gift like the chart says (not that it's against the rules, just not a very nice thing to do). Since then I've been pretty hesitant to get into anything (PIF's, bombs, passes, etc) because majority of my stock had been given to me and it's been difficult to make any purchases with having a newborn. Same reason I almost didn't join the Newbie pass. That's the very reason I didn't tell him I'd send something out immediately.
 
I don't see a troll here by either gentlemen guys. I genuinely like both of them as I am a newb myself and we are all learning and growing as we interact here. Isn't it why we joined to learn? Mistakes will happen and we apologize, learn and correct ourselves in the future.

I myself am guilty of threadjacking too when I started, probably still do once in a while as my mind is a crazy mess.

I know of Ben's pulling out of the PIF or other threads due to limited inventory as he mentioned it before so I understand when he cannot give a direct timeline on shipping. I would have just checked with him via PM if I were the recipient of that stick as time went by. Still good in my mind.

Gahau tries to be fun loving in his joking with people, however, sometimes his English usage and emoticons make people's eyebrows go waaay up. But he does apologize and yes, he has a bit more learning to do, but I feel he will "get it" eventully with time here. He did the right thing and stepped away from the keyboard before he had a meltdown so he did learn something in this thread. Good on you Gahau!

My opinion may not suit everyone, and I rarely get involved in thread problems when I read, but I felt I had something to bring here as this one deserved saving on both gentlemens future.

Understood. My point is, regardless of the origin of a cigar in your humi, if you had but 1 stick in there, it should have been sent to make good on the moldy stick that was sent....regardless if you knew anything about the mold or not. It didn't have to be a stick you purchased yourself as you weren't selling it.

There are principles behind CP....taking care of your mistakes regardless of situations or excuses, is probably the one that defines you most as a member.
 
Then it'll be taken care of. My apologies if My action(s) have rubbed anyone the wrong way. Lesson learned by many I'm sure.
 
Good points, Jonesy. Focus was certainly on one side when both sides could have improved.
 
I didn't say anything about gahau God damnit. I asked why people were trading PIFs and everyone ignored my question per the norm. Fuck it you guys make your bed you sleep in it
 
Well, at least it's a learning experience for you Dawsy. Brian's right in that you should have just sent the damn stick and washed your hands of it. In respect to the fact that most of your stock is gifted to you, be mindful of what Phil said about re-gifting PIF'd sticks. There's no rule against it, but it looks really bad. So, figure something out.


As far as Gahau trolling, I totally side with Brent on this one. The guy makes cryptic statements sprinkled throughout the thread, used his "lol's" and his smileys, but kept insinuating that Dawson had wronged in him some way. Finally, when called on it, he acted like a pissed off 5 year old and tried to pretend there wasn't a problem here in spite of his prior statements that showed some type of evidence of wrongdoing, while continually alluding that he had been wronged.

Just grow a set, be a freakin' adult, and speak your peace. Don't beat around the bushes. It's like saying, "Jonesy told me he was gonna take me to Lou's Living Donut Museum in San Jose, but then he never showed up. Well, I'm just glad Dawsy's sending him a stick to make it right, and this can be finished. Also, I did a trade with Brent, but a stick he sent had some mold under the triple cap, but I'm okay.
