Mr. Keepin' it Real checking in.
I don't think Opus are all that. In general, I don't like the flavor profiles and I absolutely hate the fact that they seemed to be crafted with stupidly high nicotine content. IMO, there are better tasting cigars out there for the same money or far less that...
Hmmmm, beer and cigars?
I have to tell you that I don't think the two go together very well at all. In my experience cigars marry best with sweet or smokey drinks. Sweet includes colas, iced tea and such. Smokey drinks would be your scotches and bourbons.
I have never found beer or wine...
While I agree that the overall tone of these things is less professional than they once were I disagree that this compares with JR. I find those cat's to actually be entertaining and written to be funny. This Holts offering was just nasty.
I posted about this on CF as Andrew did and I repeat...
I went "slumming" and I don't care who knows it. You have to be able to admit that something was good even when conventional wisdom says it won't or shouldn't be.
Last evening on my drive home I fired up a Honduran Factory Corojo Lonsdale. These come from JR and sell for $49.95 for a...
I've smoked a few each of the Churchill and the Robusto and they are both right in my wheelhouse flavor-wise. I really relly like both of them but the $$ is prohibitive for me to stock any. I'll maybe grab a single here and there but the cost scraes me off. Shame too, because I think they are...
You bring up an important point conecrning these. They aren't designed to be copies of the namesake smoke. For example, the Alt to a Cohiba Robusto is not supposed to be a $1.25 copy of the original. It shares the same size and is blended to attempt to share the general characteristics of the...
This is one of those questions you can only answre for yourself. We all have different financial conditions so disposable income to one person is not what it is to another.
On the surface, no, a padron 80 cannot be three times better than an Exclusivo or eight times better than a 3000. If...
It varies from Alt to Alt. I have had some Alts that were among the worst cigars I have ever tasted. Conversely, the Alt to the Fuente Reserva #3 is a staple in my rotation. They are, to MY taste buds, great cigars. I frickin love em. Your mileage may vary!
You can't lump the Alts...
Nice review. I haven't treied that size but I am a big fan of John's cigars. They do come wet, but that's probably because the cigar's age is measured in weeks and not years.
I've smoked one and found it to be very very good. In time MAYBE as good as the Milleniums were. I said maybe because it will be very hard to match or top absolute perfection. I have a full box and I just love looking at them. It's like eight chocolate bars laying there. They look so nice...
