    Uppman PC opinions?

I have not tried the Upmans, but have smoke my share or MC4s which I can recommend. Thanks to others on this site, I have bought and tried some Dip., and SLR PCs which I have found quite good.

    What's up with Castro?

I don't think I have ever had any Cuban mashed potatos!!!!!

    What do you think of...

If you can get them for $2.00 a stick and age them for two years they make good little smokes. A bit harsh but you still get the island taste. I think of these as the Tampa Nugget of ISOMs.

    Decisions, Decisions

I am most familiar with the RASS and when I find a great cigar, I typically stick with it for a while until quality erodes or I find something better. Call me boring

    Young, Sick, Aged

I generally have smoked my cigars with 18 months to 5 years of age on them. This practice was derived from an early experience of attempting to smoke a 6 month old Punch Punch which left me with a taste like something I would imagine my cocker had left in freshly mowed grass. I was visiting...

    Partagas Petit Coronas

I just got a couple of boxes of Partagas Mille Fluers and the box pictured above is identical at the same angles including the date. The boxes I have are marked Mille Fluers on the side.

    Is it a personal preference?

I had an unusual experience recently. I had about 100 RyJ MFs placed in an old cabinet box and put in the bottom of the coolerdor about 3 years ago. When I opened the box, there was scatters white spots on the top layer. I assumed mold and started tossing cigars in the kitchen garbage...

    5x5 & Aging

I have always removed cigars from the 5x5 packaging for aging, but, I am sure they would continue to age in the packs if stored properly.

    ISOM v. NonISOM

I had smoked nothing but ISOMs for the last 6 months and was not experiencing the pronounced difference from NonISOMs I recalled in day gone by. So I spent a week smoking nonISOMs, Fuente, LGC, and Punch. These had the same tastes I recalled and were quite good. This weekend I returned to...

    Looking for feedback

These are really nice but the market I think will be toward the larger custom cabinets as Imports have the 25-150ct market well saturated.

Vendor Aged Or Age Them Yourself?

I plan ahead and purchase this year for my smokes in 2011 as I like a box to be 5 years old to break. It is rare that I find older dates to purchase for items I prefer. It is sort of like gardening for me. Plant a box in the coolerdor and tend it until it is ready to harvest. Of course...

    What is your favorite Siglo?

I am always "drawn" to PCs so the II stands out for me. Maybe I am in a rut!!!!

    65% Humidifier for a 28QT, Coolerdor

My butter bowl filled with 65% climmax beads has worked well in my coolerdor but it takes up space and I want to squeeze in another box. I have taken a new Cigar Reservoir in the cedar holder I bought a couple of years ago and modified it. I popped the top off, dumped the oasis in it and...

How do they ":show great potential"?

I have had a few that the humidity got too low in the aging process and diminished the flavors but have never noticed properly stored smokes that were good taking a nose dive as they get older. About seven years is the most my smokes will age before meeting a firey death so I have no longterm...

    Montecristo #4

Thanks for the recommendations. I have found a box each of the Bolivar, ERDM, SLR, and Dip4. The latter two are the only ones ready to burn. The DIP4 was a pleasant smoke with great flavor and draw but the construction of this 02 box was a bit spongy. The SLR is very good around so far...

    cutting vs punching....

I use a single blade, trying to cut along the first of the three rings closest to the cap. I don't think it matters except to the individual.

I checked RASS - I have not tried all these, but I have had several boxes of the RASS and have always been well pleased with them.

    Montecristo #4

I primarily smoke the Montecristo #4s but find construction and cosistency have suffered from the mass production to meet the worldwide demand. I am too cheap to pay Cohiba prices. Anyone have any recommendations for other PCs that will make a good substitute????
