    My christmas humidor

Nice job on the conversion. It also means so much more than something you'd purchase. Very thoughtful on Dad's part!

    Havana update

What a mess it seems to be down there Johnny. What is even worse is that they are so close to our coast yet we "cant" help them out. Please continue to keep us posted....

Bush vows not to lift embargo on "dungeon" Cuba

Besides the fact that with the direction that the economy has been heading, Cuba's might surpass ours. Also just a rumor of course.....

    Should I buy a humidor

I'd continue to "rifle". The humi will never be as big as you actually would (eventually) want or need it to be. That was my problem and I wound up with an Aristocrat with two drawers. My 2 cents says stick with the coolidor and maybe use a tupperdore for the temporary handful.

    Bolivar

Simple yet great review. I agree with your thoughts on this smoke. Nice flavor for its size for those of us who enjoy a full bodied smoke with not always a lot of time to spare.

Bush vows not to lift embargo on "dungeon" Cuba

Being born and raised in Miami, I know that feelings are "mixed" about this issue there. In addition, as noted in the article, things may change at least slightly depending on the outcome of the election. In the meantime, don't hold your breathe.....

    Storing ISOMs

Nah, just separate them by size for easier picking. Otherwise, no worries.

El Rey Del Mundo Grandes de Espana

Great review as always Greg. I have a few of these in the humi and put off smoking them as the ring gauge is kinda thin for me. Think that I will give em a try! thanks.

    What digital hygrometer?

No rubber gasket. Only a half-mooned sized magnet on the back. Also comes with a half-mooned sized piece of "metal" with double faced tape which works pretty well. The metal stays in place allowing the hygro to be removed. Go with this one, as you will be surprised how "OFF" the radio shack and...

    What digital hygrometer?

I agree 100% with this recommendation. They are "calibratable" and there is no guessing as to what the humidity is. Salt test them, calibrate it every few months and you are good to go!

    Humidor Repair

The question is why are the "slats" warping in the first place? Are they being constantly wiped down with water? 70 percent humidity should not cause cedar to warp, but excessive moisture will. If they are warping then gluing them won't work as you don't have a true flat piece to attach to the...

    Cohiba authenticity

Hey JayBay have you ever thought of producing fake Cohiba bands? You'd probably do a better job than most fakes that I have seen. Just kidding of course!

    Cohiba authenticity

Not always the case. Mine are clearly fake yet COHIBA is raised. Sometimes closer inspection is needed though in my case, other obvious clues existed.

    Cohiba authenticity

I wanted to add to the thread and share my past experience. I was kinda shocked that anyone would bother to produce bogus Siglo I's, as they are so small. I was wrong! The following pics are from a fiver that I received from a member of CP who because of this and other "sales", is no longer a...

    Beetles in my Fuente

Sorry to hear of your beetle issue but what's worse in my opinion is the poor customer service you received. I'm not sure if the beetle was the fault of the cbid or the time it took to reach you in the mail. I just received a few cigars from someone in California and a beetle hole was present. I...

What about using a curio cabinet as a humidor?

My main concern with all that glass is how safe it is to have in a humidor when one (me) would be in and out of there 2-3 times a day. You would just have to be real careful not to chip or crack it. I agree that wood is not the end all, as many store in tupperware. I also agree with your point...

What about using a curio cabinet as a humidor?

All that glass would concern me. Guess it could be done by removing the glass shelving if possible and replacing them with wood (cedar). The seal might also be an issue. You'd be much better off with what is described in the above post.
