I'd be interested in hearing if Cuba was a bustling, blossoming middle class society as Garcia portrays it, or if it was the poor peasant filled land ripe for revolution as we have been lead to believe.

Any firsthand knowledge out there?

There's plenty of firsthand knowlege to be found. My family who came to the US in just before the no-good, SOB murderer took over can attest to that. And, the movie is dead on. If you've been lead to believe otherwise, you've been lead astray. Read the article itself that you link to. It gives just a thumbnail of facts that speak for themselves about the type of society we had in Cuba before that terrorist took over. There is nothing good that he has done. Nothing.

I'm going to see the movie at our local drive in. That way I can enjoy a smoke or two while watching.

I remember stories my grandparents would tell me about cuba.

They would tell me how they would travel to CUBA from Guatemala. It was one of the hottest tourist spots in the world during that time period.
