Brandy Recommendation?

Hello everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a brandy. I'm talking about just a regular brandy (not from Cognac or Armagnac regions). Maybe something from the US (not Korbel or E&J please!). There must be some little guys out there making it? I've heard there are some good brandies from Portugal, but any input is welcome.

You may find some good Mexican Brandies you may be able to get as far south as you are. I am trying to come up with the name of the last one I had, but damned if I can. It had a gold label with orange lettering.

Best Brandy I've ever had was Asbach Uralt. It's about $25 a bottle I believe.

The XO or Pinot Noir are two of my favorites from them if price is no option.
The Havana Reserve sounds interesting too, but I have never had it.
