Cigar Carry In The Field / Hiking / etc.

I'm at the moment smoking Acid Cold Infusions.
I like the size at around 6.5" X 48 or so ring size.
My favorite places to enjoy a smoke usually require
a fairly intense hike.
To just grab a cigar or a few and go needs a carry method
that I just couldn't find (or at least not to my liking).
So I made my own.

This one houses a Cohiba 3 tube humidor.
The only issues I have with it is the thread on caps not being tethered to the rig.
Dropping a cap WOULD result in loosing it at some of my favorite spots.
For a "carry out to smoke" rig it doesn't need to be a "humidor".
It just needs to be protective so I'm making one now with aluminum
tubes open at both ends housed in a similar leather pouch rig.

Thanks for looking,
Mike

Looks nice and durable, but it would annoy the crap out of me, hanging off my neck. I'd much rather have it attached to a carabiner or a daypack.

The "shoulder" strap comes off and the belt loop on the back can accommodate
other carry choices.
When I go off on activities, unprotected delicate items like cigars usually end up broken.
So I need them protected from that.

Thanks,
Mike

Nice, now you just need better taste in cigars :)

Interesting rig but I would want it on my belt or hanging on my neck. Seeing as how I have to drive to get to any trail system more than a few miles long I almost always have a day pack for the essentials; keys, wallet, water, fruit, tissues (good for either end), a map if its my first trip there and sometimes a smoke in an A/T. I save and reuse A/T's and if I'm concerned about humidity or if I plan to be out for multiple days I put everything in a ziplock bag.

I head out with everything in a inner frame backpack either on foot or on a bike.
This includes a 5 or 10 cigar humidor (plastic, cumbersome type).
Once I get somewhere I'll ditch the pack and stretch my legs a bit. This is when I
want a grab and go container. After even an hour backpack carry something like
this isn't even felt, no matter how it's carried.
This over my shoulder or on my belt and a choice filling in a flask is all I want
weighing me down for an hour or so.
Or if I'm walking around a fav. fishing hole.
It's like most things we have, unneeded but wanted. Wanted wins out
Mild, smooth smoke in the size I like (around 6.5" X a 48 or so ring size.
Make some suggestions for me...

Thanks,
Mike

These photos might shed a little light on the carry options.
It has a fixed belt loop so it can be packed as is or attached to something.

Thanks for looking,
Mike

Not sure they are considered mild, but the Padron x000 series is a good start. Fuente 8-5-8?

I don't smoke as often as I'd like and haven't bought much in a while, so I'm out of the loop on what's out there.

The smoke what you like rule is invalid when someone is smoking Acids. They're just nasty. There's another rule that comes into play, friends don't let friends smoke Acids.
