CP's "Cigar 101" Newbie Pass 5

Sorry guys, the box did NOT go out today. The carny working the USPS desk refused to accept the box, because it "looks like a wine box," even though I magic-markered-out any mention of libations. :angry:

I took it home and wrapped it in plain brown paper. It will go out in the AM. Same DC #.

I used the comparison shopper for the above with the exception of the Esencia Belicoso, as it isn't listed in the comparison shopper. I instead used google shopping and found two vendors that carried it, NH Cigars and Silo, with which I got the above price.

Take: Tatuaje Unicos: $1718.78/7= $245.54/25 per pack= $9.82 per stick.
Put: AVO Signature Belicoso: $1309.09/6= $218.18/20 per pack= $10.90

Take: LDF Limitido III: $1559.89/4= $389.97/48 per pack= $8.12
Put: Master Blend Torpedo: $1282.34/6= $213.72/20 per rpack= $10.68

Take: Arturo Fuete Anejo no 77: 10.25 a stick via Vitolas.net + Rarity
Put: Arturo Fuente Opus X (Fuente Fuente) 10.50 a stick via Vitolas.net
* I wanted to put in a cigar that was rare. I do hope that the Fuente Fuente will be acceptable being that the Anejo No. 77 is a bit harder to find in comparasion to the Fuente Fuente.

Take: Avo No 3 Nat: $1294.64/9= $143.85/25 per box= $5.75 per stick
Put: CAO LX 2 Toro: $834.29/7= $119.18/20= 5.95

I know the two that you pointed out B.Dawson are a bit uneven but my thought process was to put in cigars that I enjoy on a regular bases and figured that others in the pass would enjoy as well. I know this is a learning experience so any input from the community is greatly appericated.

I understand your logic, but I think you may want to find something a bit closer in value, especially the Master Blend for the LFD.

Sorry, been scarce lately... Tomorrow is the last day my branch is open and it's been very busy getting everything ready for the closing. I can't wait until this is all over and done with (the branch, not the pass )!!!

Well the community has spoken and looks like I will be changing the LDF for master blend put and take. I would like to stay with the Tatuaje/ Avo trade though if I can. I will have to redo and repost the last put/take as I am out of the house and on the road.

I think the first one looks OK. It's a bit of an overput but not too bad.

The first one looks ok to me. A dollar ten doesn't seem to bad, but the second I agree is an over put being that it is two dollars over. Perhaps a different size MB3 to lower the cost?

Well according to the PDF document the LDF Limitado III is priced at $423.00, 289.95, 423.99, 422.95 and that totals $1559.89. Divided by 4 shops, I'm getting $389.9725 as an average. And with 48 sticks per box I'm getting $8.12. Its rather simple math, but I do hope I did not nob it up. Could the PDF be wrong on pricing? Best Cigars has it priced at $289.

Ok I just checked Best Cigar Prices website (here be the link: http://www.bestcigarprices.com/searchresults/) and they have the box normally priced at 470 (I guess its on sale for 289.95) So can I use the "normal" price or am I "stuck" with the sale price. Becuase with the ."old" price I get cost per stick to be $9.06 instead of 8.12. So it be closer to what am I putting in and might solve this little problem.

As for the pass itself. Ever thing great, going to probably rebox the pass so we dont have another "OMG your shipping wine" moment.

Greg, as Shant said the pass arrived today in good condition. Humidity was a bit high when initially received so we cracked the tupperwares for a bit, and now they are sitting at a solid 70%. Beads in one were fine, second needed a bit of water so that is all taken care of. We are going to rebox it in a same sized but plain box, the brown paper it was wrapped in didn't last.

I need to rethink my put and take with the La Riqueza. I thought I had the Esteban Carrera 10 Anos Robusto but it turns out it was a larger size and thus is an over put. Seeing as the pass can't go out today anyways, I'll make sure I get a put that works in its stead tonight and approved. Greg, seeing as we are doing three takes/puts at once here and Shant is having trouble with his, is it ok with everyone if we ship this thing out on Monday?
