Leaving today to head to West Virginia. Going to a conference there for 7 days and am not looking forward to two things....humidity and the time zone!

Unfortunately I think I am on the other side of the state then most...Gonna be in the metropolis of Wheeling. I brought plenty of smokes for golf and other activities...I have a couple nights where I am "on my own" any idea of anything around that area?

You could drive around in your air conditioned car and laugh at all the hicks... :sign:
Just kidding...

This place is pretty cool if you want to appease your inner child. It's called the Kruger Street Toy and Train Museum.

There's also a racetrack/gambling center around there somewhere from what I hear.

How is the state with smoking....am I going to get glares if I smoke outside or on the course?

I WOULD LOVE to drive around and laugh at hicks! That is my favorite past time.

Wheeling isn't that bad of a place it has just fallen on hard times. I used to live just outside of there where one of forge is located in Cameron, WV. The track isn't bad. No cigars inside though from what I remember. If you are into the great out of doors, Cabela's has a superstore about 10 minutes away. The toy and train museum is something fun to see. You can drive about 25 minutes away and see the amazing old prison in Moundsville. They even show you the trap door in the tower where they hung people. Smoking isn't frowned upon at all but all establishments are smoke free. If you aren't flying, and like to fish, there are enormous catfish in the river and the stripped bass are running pretty hard around the dam. If I get the chance I'd love to meet up with a fellow brother to have a cigar. If you have the time PM me and I'll send you my number.

Edited to say if you are looking for hicks, look no further. Just remember (and I really mean this), do it while in the car and moving. From experience I'll tell you they don't hesitate to start a ruckus. And they are good at it!

I am from Wheeling the casino is on Wheeling island not hard to find.
Pittsburgh is about 40 min n.w lots to do there if you make the trip make sure to eat at Primanti's.
There are a couple golf courses in Wheeling

Beautiful country. Hope you have a fun, and safe trip.

I am up at the ogelbay resort. I find out my schedule later tonight. I am sure there are some down nights.

Edit to add...Came in a day early hoping to look around, well I am stranded here. The shuttles start today but only stay on the mountain. Anyone golfer here? Is there a place to sit and smoke by the club house.
