Hi. I just get my Monte. In my opininion they aren't pretty cigars, but the aroma is great.
Handful of fotos.

you mean EL and hell they are pretty in my book. Must take alot to get you goin.

I know what you mean about the pretty comment. I just got some 2's that aren't that fabulous to look at (pretty bumpy), but they smell and smoke great. Congrats on your new smokes!!

They look like fakes to me! Better send me out a couple for verification. :p

In the fourth pic it kinda looks like mold on the head of one of them. Kind of a weird angle, but it looks like it to me. I sure hope I'm wrong.

interesting comment about the appearance of the sublimes. we've gone through several boxes here in the shop and everyone had the same unimpressive wrapper. i thought they had lots of promise when i first smoked one back in nov/december, but were too wild. i smoked one the other night and i noticed a bit of an improvement, but i recommended that my customer put them back in his locker and let them sit for another 6 months.

the monte#2 has had a similar wrapper issue lately, not very attractive. at the same time, the wrappers on the edmundos and petit edmundos have been almost flawless. i have been passing up the #2 in favor of th diplo #2 or the edmundos, not because of wrapper, but for a combination of burn and flavor.

cheers

My English isn't very good, but i belive you understend me.

In my opininion, guality of Cuban cigars looking like no funny joke. If I buying Cuban Cigars i always order in Switzerland. In Polend the Cuban Cigars are often bed, bent, and ugly. Not always, but often. My friend want to do an experiment: he want to buy exactly the same cigars in several markets. For example: one box of Monte2 in Hong Kong, one box in British market, one in Swizerland, one in Spain, and one in Polend. I am think: the best quality cigars are in English and Switzerland market.

regards

Actually looks perhaps there is slight mold throughout. Could be the the pictures, could be wrong. If and I mean if it was mold, very slight and would just wipe them off.

Congrats on the smokes. My first thought as others have mentioned though was that you may have some minor mold issues.

I got a box of these a little while ago, and the smell was I opened the box almost got me drooling.

I forgot what a FULL box of these looked like...lol...The wrappers on mine are not pretty at all but the SMELL is freakin amazing! Now if I can keep my hands off the rest for awhile...

I'd be interested to see how this experiment pans out. In my opinion, I think that the quality will depend most on the source you choose rather than which country you purchase in. I know of several shops in Switzerland that take great care of their cigars, some shops are rife with fakes, and other shops which have basic problems with maintaining temp and humidity. You may have a good point with Poland in general. Let us know how this turns out!

Blimey I love the smell AND the look! Bloody love them - picked up a few in Madrid a while back, but more importantly, mate just bought me back a box from Cuba at 113 CUC. Nice.

I went through CDG in Paris about a 6 months ago, wanting to pick up some Montis. However, the duty free humidor had this ridiculous vaporizing humidifier that was more for looks than anything. The humidity seemed ok overall, but the Montis were right under this vaporizer. I made the lady crack open a box and as I suspected...lots of furry mold feeding off those premos! I checked a couple more boxes and they all had mold. She wouldn't give them to me for free so I settled for RyJ Short Churchills on the other side of the room.

I told her that wasn't normal and they need to fix it. I think it was lost in translation.

Of course, being an American, these sticks were for an Irish friend of mine, and I was on the way to Dublin. :whistling:
