Let me first start off by saying this is my first real review of a cigar. I believe that the cigar I have smoked is the Gurkha Black Dragon. I came to the conclusion by googling it which lead me to the Gurkha website. I looked through the cigars and this is the closest to what matched. http://www.gurkhacig...agon-cigars.cfm So if someone can correct me or state if I am right please feel free. I don't know simply because I got in a bundle by the way.

This what the cigar looked like before I started.

It started out leathery I would say although I'm still getting my tastes down. It was a milder cigar than I had assumed it was going to be. It lit real nice and with no problems.

The first quarter of the smoke

There was a nice ash that when it ashed it was a little over an inch long. It stayed the same flavor as mentioned above.

Halfway through

Halfway through the smoke it started to get a little bit of a mild peppery taste. This lasted only through the middle of the cigar however.

The end

At the end of the smoke it leveled back out to the leathery taste. It was still a smooth smoke.

Overall it was an enjoyable smoke on a not so enjoyable night (it has been raining here in State College for the past few days). It was not my favorite cigar but I would defiantly buy and smoke again. It was a great cigar to smoke while reading or studying.

On a side note I was reading about the early start of the mafia while enjoying the cigar and found out the true reason they call it the mafia which is actually an acronym for Morte alla Francia Italia anela (Death to the French is Italy's Cry). I found it interesting so thought I would share.

That is indeed the Black Dragon. Most of them have a more standard Gurkha band, but the ones coming out of CI (I'm betting that's where you got yours) seem to have that band you have there. I recall that same cigar as being one of the most repugnant I've ever smoked, but different strokes for diferent folks. Maybe I got a bad couple of sticks. Thanks for the review!

I've never seen a Gurkha without the traditional Gurkha label. Interesting band.

The band is the only thing interesting about that cigar, I had a handful of them too. Sucked. Bad.

However, kudos for your first review!

It certainly wasn't my favorite cigar that's for sure. I also don't think I would spend a lot of money on them. Also thanks for confirming for me what kind of cigar it was.

I always enjoy reading a review for a little insight from another perspective... Even if it's of a brand that's not been very highly regarded from my own experiences.

BTW: when you upload a picture to a site like that, right click on the image once it's uploaded and copy the direct link. Then paste the link into your review and put image tags around it like this... InsertLinkHere (except the < and > should be [ and ])...in order for the picture to be pasted directly into your review.

BTW, welcome to CP!!

I tried doing this but the picture was excessively large so I thought this looked better. And thanks again
