Just blew most of my cigar budget for 2009 ...

Edit: to add examples of prices in US$.

Partagas Salomones IEB OCT08 - I'm a sucker for perfecto's. They were announced a few months ago, but they just came into Canada. Not quite as dark a wrapper as an LE, but darker than any of my other Partagas - and darker than my 2008 LE Partagas D5's. Sample price under $200US/10.

Bolivar Simones 2007 RE Canada TEB NOV07 - Havana House (Canadian distributor) dropped the price on these by about 50% for 2009, so the price is finally quasi-reasonable at just under $500US/50. I smoked one of these when they were first imported, and I've been wanting this cab in a bad way ever since ... smokes like a Royal Corona, but just more.

Quintero Londres Extra ROS JUN07 - not a RASS, but hints at RASS at 1/4 the price (under $55US/25).

Jose L. Piedras Conservas OBE SEP07 - my favourite JLP (so far. About $40US/25.)

I'm nubbing one of the Quintero Londres Extra's as I'm writing this :D.

As for good, though, I think it is really a question of taste. Some people like them young - I don't like them at all until they have at least a couple years on them. The different sizes also taste different, some sizes use different wrappers, etc. In any case, one gives up refinement and consistency. If these cigars were sold in the US, they'd have an MSRP of under a dollar each (pre-SCHIP). At prices like that, one can't expect much.

Those Partagas Salomones are friggin bayutifull. There is a big time shortage on dark wrappers (especially for longer cigars) and has been for the last 6-8 months. I'd be excited about the ones you have. Love to see the pics when you decide to smoke one. John

Just watch out, if you guys ever herf with this non bald bastid he will hand you your ass on a plate

The good news is he is too cold too often to enjoy it much, so don't be envious, living in the North pole has it's drawbacks.

Looks like fun my friend, I hope you enjoy all of those...what in the year 2011? Those cigars will not see light for a very long time

Nice haul!! I would do bad things for those Bolivars...bad things.
