I would appreciate your prayers for Hannah. She has two serious problems going on right now.
The first one deals with her teeth. She was molested by an uncle at age 2 and since then hasn't allowed anything to be placed in her mouth especially at the dentist office. Because of this she has developed some serious tooth decay. Also she has a serious tooth abcess and has been on 4 different antibiotics in 5 weeks. Once the infection is healed she will be having oral surgery in the hospital to remove 4 upper teeth to make room for the adult teeth trying to push through, repair the tooth decay on several teeth (including a root canal) and pull the abcessed molar as well as a couple of bottom teeth to make room for the adult teeth coming in down there.
Second problem, as if that wasn't enough for the poor kid, she has had an ear infection for most of December that hasn't been responding to the antibiotics either. Two days ago she was put on another type of antibiotic to knock this infection out so I'm praying this will work on both the tooth and the ear. Because of this infection she has not been able to hear since about the 14th of Dec hardly at all. The dr tested her the other day and said he had to turn the machine up to 40 decibals (whatever that equates to) before she even responded. I just know she can't hear us unless we are yelling at her and even then she sometimes doesn't understand unless she is looking at our mouths and we are talking slowly. She has to see a specialist on the 31st to find out whether she needs surgery for that as well.
We appreciate your prayers guys/gals and will keep you updated on the progress.
