Hello to everyone, Finally, a Cigar event in New Zealand! excuse my excitment but I have been waiting a very long time for this to happen in NZ, eventhough we have pleasant Cigar lounges, however, we rarely get an event of such kind.
Won't be excited for long after this event- as smoking prohibition in NZ will take effect in December 2004!
Who's going (to or within NZ)?

I added links and an image to the event which is called 'The Last Smoke In Havana' at the Stamford Plaza Hotel in Auckland on the 11/26/2004 (26/11/2004 NZ format)

This is a great site, I've been a guest for a while, but I will submit a follow-up of the event if anyone is interested.

Cheers from NZ

here is an extract from the ad:

'The Last Smoke In Havana' at the Stamford Plaza

'Join and indulge in the last cigar dinner before prohibition.
The evening will be hosted by Fidel Castro the 2nd, who will discuss the flavour combinations of the cigars, wine and food as well as disclosing a few Cuban secret tales.

Enjoy a night that will begin with Havana Club cocktails, including Caprihanas, and Davidoff Millennium Cigars, lovingly prepared by the exquisite hostesses. Cuban Dancers and live Cuban Jazz Fusion Band will entertain you throughout the night.

After dinner you’ll retire to the lounge, where you will be served a selection of Martell Cognacs, and Whiskies. A range of Cuban Art will be displayed compliments of the Havana Art Gallery.

The Menu
Entree
Braised duck leg, carrot and orange puree, peppered cherry glaze, accompanied by Framingham Pinot Noir and Davidoff Esquisito Cigars

Main
Fillet of Beef with Spiced Kumara Gratin and Red Onion Marmalade accompanied by Jeroboams of Jacob’s Creek Reserve Shiraz.

Dessert
A selection of fine French and New Zealand cheeses picked from the Fromageri will be accompanied by a tasty little Muscat and Monte Christo No 2’s.'
