Last year I had a great cigar someone gave to my father--neither of us recall the box,

So thought I would discribe the cigar

Maduro
about 4-5inches
thin gauge

the thing that might make this possible is that they were somewhat rectangular shaped.

Box ran about $120
Red ribbon ran between the top and bottom layers
Box was probably 6'x12'

As I type this I realize I do not have much information to go by. So let this thread die mercifully if it is too much of a shot in the dark.

Thanks,
pugs

--for some reason, I want to say they started with an "R" but that could be more misleading than helpful--

Hey Pugs, the price paid is probably the least important detail unless you know the msrp. Hope you figure it out, or run into the person who gave them to your father. Have a great New Years...

Rectangular you say! How about this?

Trilogy Old School Tri-pressed

The newer cigars are now round whereas they used to be tri-pressed.

Hope this helps. Great cigars in my book.

Just looked that up at Cigarinternationals

The cigar looks very similar--this newbie is realizing that there are more than just the ten cigars he has tried in his life--

the two differences would be that
the box was solid wood (a light colored wood)
and that their was a single ring on it.

so this appears to be a lost cause:

Holy crap, a 12 foot long box, that must've housed a ton of cigars!

Do you remember anything about the band, even just the main color or anything?

Yeah the ' vs " thing never made sense to me...

Band was a rich red (Stood out against the dark cigar),

The box held 10 on top 10 below (not the squarer boxes like the CAO). The wood was embosed no stickers.

Price thing could be way off and should be disregarded. This was a gift to guy who smokes a ton of cigars but does not savor/save/store them.

...interesting - the tri pressed trilogy was one of the first good cigars I ever smoked. Got a few of the tri pressed ones in the cooler for sentimental reasons...

Pompous Pugs - One cigar I thought of was the Sancho Panza Double Maduro. Black box, perhaps..??

Good Luck - B.B.S.

For those who were still wondering...
I think I found it:

C.A.O. L'Anniversaire Cigars No. 4

Someone mentioned it--

These are box pressed correct?

Gonna go find one now.

Isnt there a Sinclair Vingtage 55 or something close to that? It has a rich red band.
