Apparently we are in the minority, as CI is now getting rid of these (bundle of 20, 5x50 nat robusto) for $19.99. Not sure for how long this is going to go for, but I got it in my spam box last night. I hate myself for ordering from CI again, but I picked up some more for that price. Much easier to digest than the $40.00 they are regularly at.

*EDIT* OK, I guess they were regularly $30.00... still, better at $19.99.

Try that. It's the link from the email they sent, so hopefully it works for you. It's good until 30 April.

Even at $30 or $40 a bundle, that's a deal. I used to buy them from Silo when they first came out at $100 a box. But I've since smoked through 3-4 bundles so my desire to "break even" has been quenched.

I'll give them a shot. The originals were tempermental, but if treated like a virgin, delivered wonderful flavors.

I don't have much space either, but for $20 I might be able to put them in my "recovery" humidor. Shoot they might even help the sticks in there come back a little

I grabbed three. I found myself smoking them almost every morning a little while back. They are a very light smoke that I don't have to put much thought into while I'm reading or mowing the lawn or doing whatever. They are consistent and I don't think I've ever had a dud out of, maybe, 30 or so of them that I've smoked. For $20... a dollar a stick, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to stock up on them. In fact, I told my wife I wanted some more for my birthday coming up. Good thing I waited instead of pulling the trigger. Now she can get me the Short Stories I've been wanting. :) I've got room in the frigidor for them, but I might have to smoke off some of my other good stuff if I want to buy and fit anything else after this!

I was looking at picking them up as a yard or golf cigar. I have had a few of them in the past and thought they would be great for something that doesn't require your undivided attention.

Wound up getting 3 bundles. With summer coming in, a nice mild morning on the patio cigar is in order. I was tempted to get more, but have not had any since the initial
closeout. Those were so musty I wondered if they had been rolled with hay from a Horse stall. CI assured me these would be better. When I get mine in and If they're good I'll get some more if the deal is still running.

I was happily paying $6 a stick from Silo for these. CI obviously treats their cigars differently. I already have 10 boxes. Need no more. And I prefer the Churchills. The coronas tasted sour. ???

Not much love out there for these. If you never tried one, you might want to sample first before loading up.

Edit:typos.

I ended up buying a bundle on the devil's site of maduro churchills for $14, and toros for $12, and smoked the maduro last night and Connecticut this afternoon. Not a bad stick for something to smoke while reading or doing something else. Thanks for the heads up.

Have you had a chance to try any from this shipment yet? If there's one thing I can say about this cigar, is that it is consistent. Whether one thinks it's consistently smooth and flavorful, or consistently shitty, is personal taste, I suppose. However, you know what you are getting when you light one up.

Mine came in surprisingly quickly, being they had to go through the APO system. I haven't broken into any of the bundles yet, though.

Adds a whole new dimension to the "barn yard" descriptor. ;)

Yes I did! And yes, they were pretty close to the originals.
I must have somed 20 boxes of the originals, so a lot of experience with this line.
Not exactly the same, but close enough to make me happy.
I have always found the line to be exceptionally consistent in both flavor and excellent construction.

In regards to the bad batch I had, I am more prone to believe it was CI's overhumidified storage habits.
Years ago when I first tried a few orders from them, a lot of the cigars suffered from the nasty, musty, flavors that come from overhumidification.

Me too...I haven't had a good one since they used to come in boxes and were wrapped in tissue. When they first went to the bundle packaging a few years ago, I bought some with Doc Wylie and they weren't smokeable at all...threw them away, not even rookie smokers could tolerate the nasty flavor!

Glad to hear you guys like them....for Dan to smoke & like them, they must have tweaked them a bit since I had them last.

Anyone have any of the "old" Devil's Weed smokes you'd be interested in trading, selling or gifting? I'd like to try the original blend and see the difference.

I've smoked one so far, and it is good enough. Will see how subsequent ones do. Thing is, the salesperson I spoke wi/ at CI seemed to know about the CRAP batch, and assured me that those days were over. So far, so good for a buck a stick!
