The one good thing that has happened with the Pittsburgh Pirates is that they have a cigar bar in their new stadium Look Here

I spoke with the ticket office, and single game "memberships" are available. They are $70 each. A bit steep, but how nice it would be to smoke a nice stick while watching a ball game.

Tickets go on sale the beginning of March, and if anyone is interested I would love to get a gathering together to go and enjoy this. So, if anyone is interested, please PM me and we can all get together and try to find a mutually convenient date for everyone to make it.

I had tickets for this club area one time last year. - They "gave" you a Teamo (sp?) - dog rocket stick that I lit, took 3 puffs, then put out. You can bring your own cigars to smoke while you are in the club. You CANNOT take cigars outside to smoke during the game. You must stay in the lounge and watch the game on TV. They also give you a 2 oz drink when you arrive. There was also "free" food that was just ok. You do have a cash bar for the club section that serves liquor and beer. The seats are good, but all the seats at PNC are good. All that being said, I would enjoy meeting up with several BOTL for a game at PNC Park. It is truly one of the finest parks in baseball. I work about 1 block from the stadium, therefore, I could pick up the tickets. I would suggest if we were to do this, that we get together before the game and have a smoke or 2, then go to the game in seats other than the smoking area. With the $ 50.00 we save on tickets, we can all enjoy a Pirmanti's sandwich at the game.

We will probably have to bring this thread up again next spring.

I'd be interested especially when the Mets are in town. I'd make it an overnighter, yes bring it up in the spring.

I agree with cookie_1978. I was there last year after a game. To promote the club, they allowed suite patrons in for free and I was lucky enough to be in my company's box with clients. Nice atmosphere. I did get yelled at by a security guard when I tried to walk out of the bar to go to my car with my stick.

For $70, you could get a regular ticket to the game and enjoy a nice dinner at one of the downtown restaurants that allow cigar smoking. There is actually a restaurant outside the stadium called Atria's that has outdoor tables where I have seen people smoking cigars before. Maybe the play is to meet for dinner there, have a smoke, then head into the game. If people really want to go all out, Morton's is a short walk across the bridge and they are definiely cigar-friendly. I am actually a big fan of Atria's - they have several locations around Pittsburgh.

I would definitely be interested in meeting up with you guys.

Damn - Plan ahead 7 month's - I am hoping to still be alive  - As far as I know, it is fine by me. Only problem I would see is that the US Open will be at Oakmont during that week. Don't know if the USGA will be asking me to play with Tiger :D

What the hell are you smoking these days?

I would love to come to Pit. for a gameherf. And don't care who is playing.

Dinner before and field tickets work for me as well. I am only about 40 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh, so I am very flexible with the schedule.

How about Hooters in Station Square than the Clipper across the water? Of course by then, there will probably be a casino as well....

OK - Eric - it is up to you to place a reminder in your computer for next spring. As for the details, we will work those out as we get closer. They just open a new steak house right next to PNC Park - not sure if it is cigar friendly or not.

By the why, if you are a Browns fan, want to do a blind 5'r against my Steelers this weekend? LMK

I will gladly do a reminder in the spring. I am looking forward to it.

Sorry, although I live in Ohio, I bleed Black and Gold.

Now that's what I am talking about

It's called Hyde Park Steakhouse. Looks really nice. No info on their website for the PGH location, but it looks like the other locations in Ohio are all cigar-friendly.

OK... I started a thread about this already, but after wilmo said there was some discussion about this already, I decided to search for the thread.

Thanks for the heads up about the "freebies." Sounds like it would be money better spent somewhere else.

I see tone mentioned going when the Mets are in town, that's my plan. I'm looking at the August 15 game, it's a Wednesday. Jetblue has a flight that morn from JFK for $29 each way, so looks like that's my plan so far.

I'd thought I'd top this.

It looks like the Pirates only play the Mets once this year in August. What's up with that? These new schedules are from hunger since they moved the Pirates to the NL Central. I'm still up for the game/golf outing if we can pick a suitable date.

Tony - This is such a beautiful park, it really doesn't matter who you see. Anyway, the Bucs are much improved this year and they would probably beat up on your Met's :sign: - Once we settle on a date, and how many will attend, I can go to the box office and get tickets. I work about 1 block from the stadium.

It feels good when everyone can pick on the Mets!

Yeah if we make it a Friday night game we can either do golf in the morning of the game or the next day.

Problem is, the Mets are there Tues, Weds, Thurs. My hotel is booked for the Wednesday game. And I'll be booking the flight soon.

I wish I chould be there...I love rooting against the Mets, however I can not make it to Penn. Have fun guys!

I don't need to go see the Mets play the Pirates any team would be good. I'm going to hang with Cookie, play golf, smoke cheap cigars and drink warm beer. ;)

Plus the Mets games are in August.
