Golf Cigar Holder

While I have not actually used the one you showed, I have used one of these and am very happy with it. The ones I have used that operate like the one you identified are kind of a pain since you have to carry it in your pocket, constantly take it out and set it up every time you want to take a shot. Looks good but not too practical in my experience. The cigar minder however, clips on the cart and is pretty gentle on the cigar.

One other favorite is the astray that fits in the cup holder on the cart. They have one variety here. Pretty inexpensive as well. I think the things that fit on the cart are better than those that are carried and need to be set up each time. When walking, it may be ok, but normally I just use the ground in order to keep play moving.

I have been thinking about something like this. I always end up just putting my smoke on the green or next to my shot and hope the ground isn't too wet. I like the clip idea; I could probably even clip that to a bag cart.

That ashtray you linked brought back memories of my grandpa's golf cart. I didn't know him very well, and he didn't have much tolerance for my hyperactivity. But I remember wondering why the ashtray had funny sized notches. I never could figure it out, and I haven't remembered that till just now. Now it makes perfect sense. I am going to ask my dad if my grandfather used to smoke cigars.

Thanks guys,
- C

I used the ground, until last month when i took a pesticide exam and they explain that you could get poisoning if you lay it on the turf. Especially if they sprayed that morning or there was rain, dew, etc. At the last HERF they gave out holder/divot tools. Like the design in the picture but plastic.

I'll try that, but I think the cigar minder is the way to go. I've seen them in a few B & M's. Thanks golfgar.

Thanks for sharing. As long as that clip isn't strong enough to damage the wrapper, I think that would be less hassle. The only problem I see would be one of my buddies dropping me off at my shot and zipping across the fairway with my cigar attatched to the cart!

I use one of these and I am quite happy with it. It clips onto my pull cart pretty well and in my experience it is not too hard on the cigar if it isn't larger than about a 52 ring gauge.

It's kind of nice because I can clip it on my cart at the beginning of the round and it's always there until I'm done. It's nice to not have to dig in my pocket before every shot or to not have to bend over too much (bad back).

I got mine as a gift, but I'd pay the asking price. There may be better deals out there as I haven't shopped around for one.

I also us the Cigar Minder that was recommended by golfgar.... I actually bought two of them and plan on keeping one in my new garage.

You can try and find them on e-bay.... that is where I got mine

I'm guessing no problems with those clips being too tight and damaging the wrapper?

Not at all..... it doesn't clip flat against the cigar..... it wraps around it to hold it..... if I get a chance I'll post close-up pics of it holding a cigar....

I've already lost two holders because I left them on the cart. I won't be buying anymore because of this. I'll stick to dropping it on the ground or on the cart floor.

I use the Cigar Minder as well as the divot/holder Shibumi mentioned. Great combo. The Minder stays on my cart or bag if I'm walking and the divot tool in my pocket for when I'm away from the cart.

Any golfing BOTL's used this gadget?

Cigar Holder

This one looks pretty slick. Any other holders you'd recommend?

I have one of these...
I do not find it handy at all.
But it works great as a roach clip for a very tasty smoke!
I will look into the Cigar Clip!

I use the ground or if it's a small ring I will just shoot with it in my mouth.... That reminds me I should play this weekend :)

This is the one I use as well. I love it. You just have to be careful to put it back in your bag as soon as you finish your cigar. My dad has lost 2 by leaving them on the cart.

I use one of the plastic ones when I remember. Otherwise I'll use the floor of the cart, tee box marker, and I always bring two clubs to the green and rest my cigar on the shaft raising it off of the grass.

I use one of the bag/cart clips. It is great. I have never damaged a cigar with one, and have nto (yet) forgotten one, though I imagine I will eventually. A good cigar is the perfect distraction from the humiliating spectacle I make of myself any time I dare swing a golf club in public.

Like a broken record, the cigar minder is awesome. It just needs a tether or to send a shock if you are further that 100 feet so you don't leave it.

It is real easy on the sticks. My friend never had any problems with it.
