I brought the lamp to work, found a nice place for it on a table that I built a couple years back. I gotta say, that lamp really makes my office a little more like home, a little more comfy and a little warmer!

Also on the table I made is a tambour clock I made out of Cherry, my desktop on the bottom made out of Lacewood, a keepsake box I made out of Mahogany and Black Walnut and on the window sill just a little frame I made to hold a part of the motorcycle I totaled two years ago.

Very nice pieces you have there Wade. What kind of bike did you total and what piece of it did you keep....... :)

That is some very nice stuff. I really like the lamp though. You have inspired me to try me hand at one with all the cigar boxes lying around. Have a great day.

Wade,
I gotta agree... that lamp rocks! Even my wife likes the crap outta it. We've been looking for a decent lamp to sit on top of my cabinet humi, and she wants me to try my hand at one as well. Even tho I cannot draw a straight line with a ruler (let alone cut one! ) - but the way I see it, if I screw up, then I just have to get more boxes, right? :whistling:

Nice looking stuff... I'm always a little jealous of people that can do such nice work- all I can do is destroy crap! (but I'm good at it! )

Very nice Wade, I am impressed, I have built a couple pieces, but I can tell you have skilled hands..

There all really nice pieces. You can sit and look for hours. The entire collection is unique. You do have that touch. Now, what's up with the football? :D

That is a great use of old boxes and bands. I just might have to dig out some of my old boxes and give that project a shot.

Very nice stuff Wade. You're quite the skilled craftsman. I can't even put together the crap I get from Ikea!

2003 Suzuki Volusia. I had a custom brake cylinder cover made, it was the first time anybody ever did one like it on my motorcycle site and pretty much created a new trend, that cover became somewhat legendary on our site. When I crashed the bike, I had several pretty good size offers to buy it, but no way, it was mine.

This was the bike (the new one's better)!

Very nice Wade! Looks great.

If it was a bad enough crash like I had, he prolly doesn't remember. I totalled one two years ago and still have no idea what happened.

I've had several and I recall them all. Without exception, it was a car driver not paying enough attention to notice a bike. Only one involved a laydown and I did that deliberately to avoid the sudden stop against a car door. I sold my last bike 2 years ago and its unlikely I'll ever own another. Cellphones in cars just scare the shit out of me.

OUCH! :0

How did you crash the bike?
Coming home from Chicago, it was May 15th, about 9:00pm. Very cold, about 45 and it started raining, I had a lady riding my ass and just made the mistake of attempting to shift from the left side of my lane to the right side, as I crossed the center, I hit a patch of oil or something and being that it just started raining about 10 minutes earlier, the water hadn't had a chance to wash the oils off yet. So I got into a tank slapper, the bike went down on the right side with me on it, luckily the crash bars and saddle bags I had on at the time kept my leg safe. I did a few spins on my backside and got flipped over when I hit the rumble strips. Just had an "owie" as the Dr. called it on my foot, no broken bones, no sprains, no cuts. 65 MPH and I walked away, I was lucky.
