Some cigar porn and a question

So I bought these, because not only are they my favorite ISOM's ever, the price was nearly unbeatable. When I opened the box up I got a shock, they looked to have formed plume on them. I know plume "can grow within a matter of weeks," but I am still shocked. I search for this many times in advance and everything I found pointed to this being plume, but after being corrected on my knowledge LINKY, I had to ask the question! ;) It's shiny and delicious looking, is it plume?

Dunno if this is a legitimate question or not, know the shenanigans going on in the other thread, the only thing my untrained eye see's is the substance also being on the cigar bands which would point away from plume.
 
If you can wipe if off with your fingers and it doesn't stick and or smear, its plume. If it does stick/smear, its mold. It doesn't look like mold to me. Try what I suggested with wiping your finger across it.
 
Was the box sealed when you received it? Have you looked further down in the box/moved any of the bands and looked under them? I'm just having a hard time with it being plume, especially with the larger white spots here and there. Looks almost like there was mold and someone tried to wipe it off. But, hard to tell with pictures. If that is plume...mmmmmmboy!
 
In picture 1, the cigar furthest to the right (upside down)...is that glue or "other" under the band?

And again, why would the bands be pluming, too?
 
I've seen it often in cabs and I've always thought that it is just fine dust/shavings from the wood.

Exactly, dust.

I know you have a magnifying glass Sherlock. Are they crystalline? Is there evidence of the same anywhere two sticks are touching, or in the middle of the wheel?

The box was 100% sealed and legit from what I know in my noobness. I didn't remove any bands, but I did pull one out from the middle and boy was it shiny and loved of pure love!

I will go look right now, but once again the box was sealed and labels still perfectly intact.

I know some of it is wood dust, but I was easily able to blow some of the wood dust off the bands and cigars, but some of the shiny more plume like remnants remained.

I left it in Denver in a storage unit so I may once again use it for my studies ;)
