Well, I was gifted a Taboada from Alan's first purchase for my 31th birthday...and I have to say that it was worth it. I would buy some from him. but the last time I was at his house, he said he smoked them all and they are all in his ashtray out in his backyard. So I went out and smoked his ashtray!!! :0
The moral of the story...if it taste great and is worth the money to you...then it is worth it. Taboada's are just worth the price...they will always be rare and always be very, very tasty!!!

Hmmmmm ..... I smoked one of these the other night and I must say that I was highly dissapointed with this cigar. Now, I know better than to form an opinion on a single stick but this was not a good cigar.
The cigar looked and smelled great, but it was a bit on the soft side. It lit and burned very well and had a good aroma. But the taste was another story, there was a lot of tobacco and nicotine taste with very little of the Cuban characteristics coming through, it reminded me of a bad NC HdM. That nicotine "only" taste was all I was getting and it remained through the length of the cigar. There was little, if any, complexity in the finish. I was enjoying one of my favorite wines, De Rose Hollywood Red, with the cigar when I noticed that I was drinking more and more wine. I also noticed I was developing a tickle in the back of my throat, something I usually get when I'm in a room filled with cigarette smoke but never with cigars. I was using the wine to soothe my now burning throat, but I wasn't going to toss this cigar. That cigar lastest for over an hour and in the end I felt as if I had just completed a battle, and didn't come out victorious. My sore throat ended up lasting a couple of days.
