You signed up for the Newbie Sampler Trade Thread and drew Ludwig. The two of you exchanged PMs in early July. You sent him a check, he cashed it and as of the end of July, you had not received your cigars. I don’t blame you one bit for being frustrated. Now, let’s look at how you handled yourself:

Less than ONE day later on July 29th you posted THIS post which was completely inappropriate because you slighted ALL of the people like me who have done NSTs for people WITHOUT A PROBLEM up until this point (well over THREE HUNDRED of these trades):

You were then assured by quite a few members that you'd be taken care of. Once again, this was completely out of line indybob and I told you so. So what do you do? You continue with your smart mouthed comments in the thread then send me this PM with “Simmer down pussy……………………………..cat” as the title for the PM:

I don't know if this is the best way to take care of this either. It is really hard to keep track of this without placing any real effort into the mess

I just had written a lot about what I thought and deleted it all, because frankly I am here to trade, learn and have fun with cigars. The moment it becomes drama filled, is the moment I stop having fun.

BTW where is my HBD thread dammit!
 
If there is a problem at CP, we like to settle it in ONE MAIN OFFICIAL THREAD rather then having it infect other innocent topics. As always, we ask that you settle your disputes privately before going public.
 
I think its crap how indybob handled this. I have participated in the NST a couple of times and always had a great transaction. To be ripped on for no reason is total and utter BS.

As was already said by a veteran in good standing, not all avenues of communication were exhausted before the trash talking. Especially about people that didn't even have anything to do with this particular transaction. It would be a real shame if a newbie was turned away from the thread or the site for that matter because of what indybob said.

The Newbie Sampler Trade thread has been going on for a year and 5 months. I don't think it would have made it that long if the FOGs handled things poorly.

For the record...I didn't have anything bad to say about anyone until Bill started calling me names in public, and in PM's. I am dropping this issue w/ him because I don't see any point in it. Bill (CC) has got some issue w/ me. I don't know what made him target me, but it really needs to end.

As much as he is shooting his mouth off, I can say with out a doubt, that if he was in my position and standing, He probably would have done the same. It's fortunate for him that he has been on long enough and has had the good fortune of NOT having a trade go bad (I am assuming) and has been able to keep his composure.

I'm not going to get into any more drama over his petty issues.

Are you trying to drive me off of CPass Bill? It ain't working...

There is no recourse listed in the NSTT for dealing w/ a late trade. My trader dropped all contact w/ me. I tried the link in his profile to email him. I am tracking all the pm's I sent him and they are UNREAD. What else am I to do?

Newbie...remember? That's the keyword here.

So are all newbies that offend CC going to have thier own special thread for him to call them out?

He's got more pull than someone who joined a couple of months ago and starts questioning the integrity of the NST that has been going on for over a year. Say what you will, you went about it the wrong way. It's ok to feel slighted if a trade goes sour. However, many people were ready to make it right so you had no reason to bitch.

Not to defend this guy but the time he waited to get his end of the trade is inexcusable. Hopefully he has received his package by now or it is being worked out.

With that being said . . .

The way he handled the situation was completely out of line. He has completely removed the attention from a "slow trader" and focused all of the ire upon himself for his immature antics.

One thing to remember when making a trade is that sometimes the world has a way of letting us all know how precious life is. We have all seen many posts here about sick family members, emergency surgeries, accidents and sudden deaths in the family. I can tell you that should something like that happen to me the last thing on my mind is the internet and cigar trading. Upon getting back to normal I would of course "take care of" all those who may have been affected by my inattention and absence.

The point is . .. be certain that a guy is a flake, theif, bad trader, scum bag (or whatever you want to call him) and not dealing with more important issues before you post flames and call names. Issues like this should have been handled, in a civil tone, within that thread, in PM's (involving those FOGs who know Ludwig) and emails with the intention of resolving this in a mature manner.

The way this went down will not foster warm and fuzzy feelings for you Indy. Taking the "high road" will always have a better result. Remember . . ."more bees with honey" . . .

I've dealt with Bill in many different ways and he can come off harsh because he's trying to protect the community in general. Bill would have been the first guy to send you 100 bucks worth of cigars if the comments hadn't been made. I'd be pissed too being out 100 bucks, I've been screwed over by craigslist before for 265, it doesn't feel good to be duped. But keep the focus centered on the culprit, not on others who have nothing but a good rep and have been nothing but generous in their trades and interactions with board members. Yes, CC is protective of his turf, but it is so that things like this don't happen, and if they do, the person who is responsible for screwing over another is not allowed back, and the person who is screwed is taken care of.

And Jaewing may be correct, their could've been an emergency, although 30 days is a real long time. Has ludwig posted on the board in those past 30 days?
