I have to echo this. It's in bad form and frankly it just makes you look shady.
 
Hmmm.... I saw the original post shortly after it went up. It was basically introducing themselves, and to send an email to info@cigarofthegods.com for a free sampler pack. In the email we were suppose to list the names of their 3 cigars, and to state that we are member of Cigar Pass. I read the post a couple of times, but do not recall seeing anything about "first 5 to respond" (though I could certainly be wrong, but I doubt it).

Nothing said about first 5, which is ok by me. But if I get one piece of spam and no cigars I am gonna be pissed!! :angry:

Why not go ahead and introduce your company in the Retailers Forum. Retailers that run wild on CP are typically shown the door. We're all about trying new cigars but please be very cautious how you conduct yourself. Check with the Admin, Rod, for guidance.
 
Urgent Notice to those who read the original post! We truly apologize for not stating that it was limited to the first 5 people to respond! I posted this late last night and was a little tired! I should have double checked the text before posting!

This is a new site offering high quality cigars, and by no means were we trying to deceive anyone! We are aware of the importance of having positive feedback from loyal members on this or any other forums! With that said, we do have a limited supply for free samples.

When I received more than 5 emails, I figured something was not right. I reread the post and noticed that I forgot to add the limit. I then added the limited of 5 people to the original post. I then decided to remove the post as to not create anymore confusion.

To be as fair as we could, I did add the 15 first that to the list that will be receiving the free 3 pack!

Again, being a new site I understand how crucial it is to get off on the right foot. This was a honest omission!

Unfortunately, our sample supplies right now are limited and I can only send the first 15.

Please accept our sincere apology!
 
Thank you for your response. I do recognize that the omission of some type of limit had to be a mistake. Deleting the post and then stating after the fact there was a limit, however, is what made me take notice. We are a self moderating public community, and have seen our share of slimeballs. Coming back here and setting the record straight is appreciated. I wish your business well, and welcome to CP!
