For the folks who run theirs and recycle the condensation from the unit into the beads they rig a shute into a container at the bottom with beads in it like a plate.

For me what I done was to go buy some of those disposable sandwich size rubbermaid like containers made by ziplock. I used scissors to cut the center out of the lid. I then placed a portion of my beads in and then took a piece of womens nylon and stretched it over the top while I closed the lid. I reload the beads with a small spray bottle of distilled water. Im not runniing mine right now so condensation from the unit isnt an issue. Using multiple containers like the ziplocks you can space them out over the shelves and more evenly distribute the humidity, which apparently gets somewhat layered in these kind of rigs. Some guys rig up electical fans set on timers, others like me go with oust fans.

Thanks man. :) Appreciate the info. Between that and some of the other posts, I have found enough info to feel comfortable fixing it right up!!! :) And that says alot since I am somewhat anal about not doing anything until I try to know as much as possible about it!

I think you are right. Different model but same specs!

Do the thermoelectric have the condensation as well?

From my reading here I think the difference between the compressor and the TE is that the compressor sucks out humidity more because it has a defrost kind of mode like fridges. As far as condensation it is dependent on the temp difference between inside and out or how much it runs to maintain the temp you set it at. The guys in hot climates like the desert and south have more to worry about then folks in more cool places. Most guys I think set them at there highest temp which is about 65 give or take.

For me the wife veto'd having it any place but on the first floor of our TH and its pretty cool down there year round so I dont have plans right now to run it unless maybe the AC craps out. Its basically a fancy metal coolidor with a glass door to me.

Its does make for a quick dose of cigar porn when I have to get something from the utility room/pantry which is a plus. :D

Wine Cooler, Heartfelt Beads and Hygrometer are on their way to my Wife in Washington! Now I just have to convince her I need to stock it prior to coming back home. :whistling:

Hmmm. It's going to be 36 KWh per month.

I'll have to keep an eye in that.

Shouldnt be an issue once you wire in a temp control the usage. Mine kicks on twice an hour or so during the summer months. Have the temp control set to come on at 70F right now, and off at 67F.

It's here! :0

Now I need a cheap Johnson or Ranco control unit. Any ideas? I'm not too sure I can wire one myself.

Ranco is the way to go. Check Ebay. If you have any questions on wiring, shoot me a PM.

edit: spelling

Damn, I can't monitor ebay from work so I lost my auction on the Ranco I was hoping to get. Guess I'll have to try another.

You don't think a cheap Johnson Analog unit like the A19 would work? Don't get me wrong, I dig the Ranco units digital display, but is it that much more accurate than the Johnson?

Thanks for your help Bill, I have a feeling I'm going to need it. :whistling:
