ahhh vacation... haha vacation in vegas. right
well we made it here in damn near record time, just under 3 1/2 hours with a stop at the alien jerky store.
Checked in, got a room with stains I only hope were red wine with no view and the farthest trek from the elevators ever. Quickly remedied that with a short but sweet phone call to a higher closer to elevator room with a gorgeous view of the strip.
Headed over to Casa Fuente, spotted a Pete Rose here today sign at one of the shops next door, surreal.
Asked about Don Carlos Lanceros... NADA, you bastards cleaned them out!!! Grabbed a Double Robusto Casa, asked for a single blade cutter to circumsise the stick Wilkey style, they had to scour the place to find a cheap ass single blade!
Lit up and made my way to a cozy cafe table to enjoy a lovely cigar, mojito and alot of dirty looks... as well as teen girls dressed like whooores going into the playboy clothing store for girls, rad!
Met some very cool BOTL's from Ohio, they make sure they hit Casa Fuente at least once a year, even visity my home area around the OC about once a year as well. They were great, the eldest offered me an Olivia serie G torpedo to sway my taste buds to the hond/nic side, but I informed him I'm already swayed and to save it for a more deserving person.
Not there 5 min's and a stranger is offering me a stick! Absoluetly wonderful atmosphere and company.
The first stick split before I could even ash it the first time. I feel like a prick when I have to bring a cigar back for a defect, it's not like they're going to take a drag if you say it's plugged or whatver, but the lovely girl working the counter didn't even glance for a secong after I told her it split and quickly replied, "double robusto right?" and had one at the ready with the same ghetto single blade cutter for me and the torch sparked! GREAT SERVICE!
so I finished my CF, walked back to the flamingo in what feels like 130 degree heat and hit the casino. I'm about even so far.
We're now headed to eat and Fremont to watch all my old friends/coworkers/team take part in the pit competition. It should be enjoyable watching them work for peanuts in the heat I used to with a cool drink and a cigar in the other.
alright, I'm out.
p.s. I've got the internet hooked up here, so leave me any reco's for vegas you know of, I'm always finding new gems in this city.
