If you have a join date of January 4 of '01 - January 31 of '01, you're an original member, trumping an FOG. This is because there was a server/software change before that and all the data was lost. The board started before January of '01.

If you have a join date of February of '01 - December of '02, you're an official FOG

If you have a join date of January of '03 - December of '04, you're guy stuck in the middle.

If you have a join date of January of '05 - Present, you're a newbie.

Your number of posts do not determine your status in any of these groups. But, exceptions are made for time put in at other forums and over-all knowledge of the community as a whole.

;) :)

So, how is the credit for general knowledge, etc factored in?
Also, what about involvement with the community (not neccesarily number of posts)?
Inquiring newbs want to know!

Yeah, I was wondering about this as well. Just curious? :)
As a newb.

Lol I thought the saying went, if you think you’re a newb then you’re a newb. If you think for a fog then your still a newb. You have to be deemed FOG to be one. Or something along those lines.

Where does basic intelligence, possession of rudimentary social skills, inherent level of respect for others, ego, and other "intangibles" come into the mix? Do they come into the mix? This is not meant to be an inflammatory question, just a curiosity. Ones basic personality, sense of community, positive contribution to the board, and ability to interact with a cross-section of members would seem to be of equal importance to their start date.

Just a thought.

It doesn't come into the mix according to how Matt posted it.

Post count has nothing to do with it, How well you post has nothing to do with it. Only how long you have survived the CP crucible makes you a FOG or not.

And next year the 2005 members will be "you're guy stuck in the middle."

And how long a someone has been a member, doesn't automatically make them a saint, we are ALL human regardless of how long we have at this board.

To quote Groucho:.................

Aw, you all know what he said.

When do you change from a "newb" to a "noob" and then to a "boob," cause that is what I want to be......a boob. Or do I want to be against a boob? OK I'll be back when I figure this out.

Whew, glad I have company like Paragod, CC, moki and Lucasbuck.

Matt put your pants back on! And I am in a FOG!

I didn't think I had to define the difference between a jag-off newbie and a respected newbie, wait there is no difference. :sign:
