We are also working on a surprise or two. (Confirmed)

Man, I love irony! A couple came into the shop today looking for an ashtray. It was their first time in the shop so I was telling them about the herf and they said their nephew is part of the 589th. What a small world :laugh:

man i wish I could make this. No way to make arrangements with the holidays and family and basketball teams in time to escape (not to mention the cash to travel) .

I will be there in spirit and will clip a special cigar in your honor and safe return.

Sounds like a GREAT time. All of us guys that are too far away will have to be green..with envy.That's alright, i'll light up one of my favorites and join you guys in spirit.
 
I just made reservations at Best Western Cooper Inn & Suites from Friday, 15 Dec to Sunday, 17 Dec. This Hotel is across COOPER STREET from PARKS AT ARLINGTON MALL and 1.29 miles from TOBACCO ROAD. :) :)

The Hotel has set up a group reservation for "BAGHDAD BOTL HERF" and is holding 7 additional rooms (2 queen beds) for anyone else who would like to stay there; more is better but they only set aside 7 rooms. The special rate is $65 per night ($34 savings). There is no deadline to make the reservation with the special rate, but reserve early to guarantee a spot.

Also, you don't have to reserve the $65 room....... you can upgrade to another room if you like....like a King-Size Bed and Jacuzzi... ;) ;)

I am going to try to make at least one of the herfs. Thanks to the guys for their service.
 
I'm kind of superstious, and haven't conveyed my welcome home to our Bagdad BOTLs. In my experience short guy's in combat zones get overly cautious and shit happens, but now, since all of you made it home safe, I'd like to welcome you all home and wish you all a WELL DONE and welcome home.

Been home just over 10 days and it seems like forever-ago we were sitting in the dust; kinda like a time warp or something. It's been nice getting settled back in. My wife even let me by a new truck (F150 Super Crew 4x4 :) :cool: ).

Tomorrow is our first day back at work.....although I don't think we'll have to stay there the entire day... :whistling:
