Filling in later. This is the first from a cab when my son was born a year ago today

Edit: No long review here, I spent more time enjoying the smoke than analyzing it. I will see I was impressed with how good this cigar was after only a year down. It was already demonstrating the strength and earthiness of the bolivar profile very well. I am pretty excited to see how these age. Given that it was still fairly one dimensional I am just using this initial post as a marker for years to come.

Sorry to bring up such an old thread, but wondering how these have changed over time. I've had a couple many years ago and really enjoyed them. Just bought my first box of them and they're pretty good fresh. I'm wondering if I need to exercise patience and let the, sleep for a while or if I can just keep indulging in them.

I still think these are one of the best Cubans in terms of bang for the buck. They are just a smooth and creamy fantastic cigar. They definitely benefit from about 2 years of sleepy time on them, but what cigar doesn't?

My advice would be not to beat yourself up about grabbing one every now and then. Who could blame you? But make sure to put a good amount off to the side as well. You'll want to rip them out in 18-24 months and be rewarded for your patience.

With that being said - would you go with the Belicoso or the Royal Carono?

The Royal Corona is great too, but it's just a different smoke than the BBF.

But to answer your question, if you ask me which of those I'd prefer to have a box of in my humidor.....it's the BBF.

I second that emotion. I have not had a humidor devoid of BBF's in 20 years.

Wow! MNBrian sent one to me and I really enjoyed it... have been wanting to buy a box, just wasn't sure which to go with. You guys helped me narrow it down! Thanks :)

Why choose...?? BRC's and BBF's are staple smokes. I try to keep a couple boxes of each, all the time. One to smoke out of, one to rest up. When I open the 2nd box, an order gets placed.

Those two, Monte #2's, and PSD4's are all staples around here.

I've got a couple PSD4's that are about 2 years old right now, and I'm loving them. Probably going to pull the trigger on another box so I can put some to rest for a bit!

Thanks for the reply!

That's something we can discuss......
Watch out for Tom's school of Piranha....er...Chijuajua. :D

I really miss multiple dogs greeting me, hanging with me, etc,

Older pic. My son around age 2 or 3.
A Dane, a Yorkie, and a Cockapoo. Talk about diversity. I miss them all, but my Dane was the most painful. Lived almost 13 years by my breaking "conventions".
