Mold on a Forbidden X

I have been reading a number of threads and within one, I noted that the member likes to take the cedar wrap off of his sticks because of the potential for mold.

So I take the cedar wraps off of recently purchased Forbidden X's and a Gurkha G3.

Lo and behold, the Forbidden X had two greenish dots of mold toward the foot (which was covered by the cedar wrap).

Here are a few pictures:

I've searched for information and will try to wipe the mold off with a dry cloth. The mold appears to be on the surface and maybe below as well.

EDIT: My humi is only two weeks old. I use a cigar oasis XL for humidification (set to 65%). Room temperature is typically 65-70 degrees F.

If the mold doesn't come off through wiping, should I keep the cigar in with his brothers/sisters, or should I smoke it? I was hoping to age this guy for a while, but I want to do the right thing...

Doesn't look like mold in the pics. Is it fuzzy? If it is mold just wipe it off and fire it up. If it isn't then it may be water spots on the leaf itself and poses no risk to itself or other sticks in your humi.

I'll try to take a better picture. It's definitely green in color and it isn't fuzzy.

If it isn't fuzzy then 99.5% chance it isn't mold.

Hopefully it's just an area where the tobacco didn't age or cure quite right, which means that the cigar is okay. :thumbs:

Agreed, looks like it's just a green spot on the wrapper.

As others have said, this looks like a water spot, or maybe just a "green spot" on the wrapper; seen it before. From your photos, I don't think it's mold.

Mold is usually "fluffy" and almost white in color. Now (sadly) here's what mold looks like:

Most guys just brush it off and smoke 'em.... :thumbs:

I feel a bit better now.

For the amount I had to shell out for the Forbidden X, I was hopeful that it wasn't a problem.

Is it OK to continue to age this little guy?

Looks like You have the same problem but in mini version like I have with my ugly La Flor de Canos. And if I was said to keep it and then smoke it, than You can even age it

Used to do work in a lab that played with mold and bacteria. I'm saying its just a spot on the leaf. I've had some Opus that has had that before and deinitely wasn't mold so I wouldnt worry one bit.
