Last night after dinner I was in the mood for a smoke.
I popped open the desktop I keep at home. (I keep most of my cigars at work ).
Anyway I saw a lonely unbanded smoke I cut the head toasted it up and was treated to one of the most pleasurable smokes. The sad part I don’t remember what it was. I think it was a De La Concha house, but I’m not sure It was about two years old. Now I’m sad because I don’t know what it was to get more.
Did this ever happen to anyone else ? Or am I the only idiot that doesn’t label unbanded smokes.

I feel your pain, 5x50. I've got a bunch of 'em - many also from that island - and many of the ones I've tried were great smokes. Burns my butt not knowing what they are, but I've chosen to look at it as a valuable lesson. I now label all my unlabeled cigars with name/date and who I got it from.

It's definitely getting to that point. I have a ton of unbanded sticks, but right now I know what they all are just because of where they're kept and which other sticks they're kept with. After reading your post, I think I'll have to make this my holiday weekend project.

I would kick myself if I experienced that. I make sure to at least put it on an XL spreadsheet before it goes into the humi, or drop it in a single cigar baggie and write on it.

The Answer

I've been using this system for a while with the Brother DK1204 labels stuck onto the blanks and I think it was some of the smartest cigar-related money I have ever spent.

Think of it as "that special cigar"

Sometimes, as has been proven with blind tasting, we are skewed by what the cigar is. Possibly, the last one we had, was not good
and so, we would arguably not have another...well, this time you did!....maybe!

I'm too anal. I've got every cigar on a list with where I got it, when I got it, what it is.... I band them if they are unbanded when I receive them. :0

That's why I never buy unbanded San Cristobal de la Habana's.
