Very normal from a very oily cigar. It means it is aged well and it's always good to see, although the tar needs to be dabbed away with a paper product. You see tar a lot from La Gloria Maduro's especially.

My Anejo did the same thing.

It may be a sign of a "good" cigar but when that tar touches your tounge, it tastes disgusting :0

That is a great thing. I had a 98 PAM recently that was much worse (or better depending on how you view it) than that.

I have to disagree about tar being a sign of a good cigar. I've been smoking for 30 years and can count on one hand the times I've had a cigar tar out like that. I'll toss before I even think about dabbing it.

All I can say is that the PAM I mentioned was by far the best cigar I have ever had bar none. ???

I've only had this happen to me once. It was a H.Upmann a couple years ago and I was kind of freaked out at the time but the cigar was great so I wasn't sure what to think of it.

Maybe they are using tar to glue the cigar

Guys, trust me...we are not all alike, do not all like the same things, but Tar from a cigar is a sign of aging and will USUALLY enhance the flavor and balance of the cigar. You HAVE to dab it away, or wipe it off, or snip it, or something. The tar itself is very bitter and nasty to the taste, but it is a good thing (just takes a little maintanance). If you keep the tar off your licker, you should have a good experience!

It's not tar but resin....it is harmless but does taste nasty when you get it on your lips ot tongue.....anyone that has tried good reefer has dealt with this!!!
