I myself am a big fan of Pierre Jouet, we will probably be drinking that or Veuve Clicquot at midnight. Cognac of course the rest of the night. Got to keep warm in the mountains.

What about you guys?

I'll only have a glass at midnight probably, just as tradition. Looks like the rest of the night will be wine for me, since I'm getting dragged to some BYO restaurant.

I'll imbibe the traditional glass at midnight New Year's and at weddings. I prefer rose over cuvee, but am rarely given that option. Gonna be Scotch the rest of the evening. Light on the Scotch. Gotta wake up early and bright eyed to tailgate the Rose Bowl and be able to make it to my seat for the game.

I love Veuve Clicquot. We have similar taste I assume because Pierre Jouet is also very nice in my eyes.

I drink very little white wine and very much red. Still, for a easy pick of good, no year bubbles, Veuv is the best.

Pierre Jouet is my fav. I got engaged to it. Vueve is a close second. I do have a couple of bottles of Dom, but am not a big fan.

We have a nice bottle of sparkling brut (Pinot Noir) set aside for the event, although we will be enjoying P&J up until then.

My wife loves the annual Moet Nectar for New Year's. I'll have a glass or three but then it's back to the brown liquid

We're having another couple over so the wife picked up some bottles of "J" sparking wine. I know nothing about it but she says some others have told her about it. Scotch for me most of the night.

Perrier Jouet Flor de Champagne is a great champagne and the painted bottles are beautiful as well. I'm not huge on the bubbly so it will be mostly scotch for me. After the baby goes to sleep of course.

That is what we have set aside. It is Pinot Noir Blend, not your typical sweet bubbly.

I generally foot the bill for my New Years party, and I have a lot of friends that aren't particularly particular about what they consume, so it will be cava or prosecco for me. I was thinking about picking up some cabaiguans as well, but the party has extended beyond my inner circle of friends, so I may look for something cheaper, or just go with byoCigars.

Mead for me. Traditional thing . . . old, old traditions.

Taking a couple bottles of my latest batch up to San Antonio to celebrate with friends.

But there will no doubt be bourbon or Scotch and some Julbier involved as well. :D

I'm a regular bubbly drinker but we will be enjoying it for New Years as well. Not sure which one just yet, I'll need to poke around in the cellar a bit.

I just looked up J Vineyards. It looks interesting. NorCal, do you know anything about them?

Yup, been there a few times. A friend of mine is a huge J fan so we usually drink there Sauvignon Blanc when we have dinner with them. They make some nice wines, and their sparkling is decent but I don't have any in the cellar as the last time I was there they didn't impress me that much.

I think one of the top CA sparkling producers is Roederer Estate, their L’Ermitage is one of the best and I do have a few of these in the cellar

And who just might be representing the Big Ten in the Rose Bowl? :D

I'll be drinking Hopkins Vineyard Gold label (<<linky) sparkling on 12/31.
