This is the main reason I keep my cigars in the cellophane and regularly inspect my stock. I've read that it helps.

Read up on freezing the cigars and then slowly increasing the temperature. You'll need to go through your entire cigar stock, throw out the bad ones (ones with holes) and then use the freeze method for the rest. Your humidor and boxes will need to be wiped clean with ammonia water and set out to dry. My guess is that your humidor is probably either too humid or too warm (probably both).

It would be nice if you plan to stay around to post a introduction and let us get to know you.

Cellophane won't stop them.

Yeah, I know. My hope (and the theory) is that it will slow down the spread, though. So maybe I'll have 5 ruined cigars instead of 20. I also use multiple boxes or storage, which I've heard helps as well. Of course, the only way to "stop" them is to freeze the cigars.

Best of luck with your situation. Hopefully there isn't anything too valuable in your humidor that got the axe.

I've been fortunate enough to have never been confronted with this situation, but a I have seen what these nasty little critters can do. Good luck to you...

I just spray my humidor with Raid when I spot a beetle. Hope it helps.

The boxes will keep the in (or out) but they can eat though cellophane like it's nothin'. By the time you see the hole there is already a lot of damage done. They will often eat from one cigar in a box into another right next to it, and unless you take all the cigars out to inspect you won't know it. Freezing (if you are that worried about it) and keeping heat and humidity down.....
