My name is Zach. I am 28 years young, lived in Chesapeake Virginia for the first 18 years of my life and then joined the United States Air Force after I graduated High School in 2000. I worked in the communications career field when I was stationed in Tokyo Japan for my first duty station. After that, I PCS'd to Germany for the remaining three years of my enlistment. I had the privilege of working in a combat comm unit and was deployed to Iraq when the war first kicked off in early 2003. Best time of my life. During my 6 years in the military, I served in Iraq for two tours, Saudi Arabia and Israel.<br />

After separating from the military in 2006, I signed on as an Army Contractor in Baghdad Iraq. After only a year of being over there, I was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. A type of bone cancer that originated in my right hip. It went on to metastasize into my lungs. After 11 hip surgeries, 2 lung surgeries, many rounds of chemotherapy and 2 years of hell, I am in remission. The doctors gave me roughly a 15% chance of beating this cancer since it had developed so far. But thanks to a wonderful support system, I managed to beat it. When I was diagnosed, I heard that staying positive was a big part of beating cancer. I am now a believer. If you or someone you know is fighting the battle, stay positive. Anything is possible as long as there is somebody willing to fight. I have been in remission now for a little over a year. With nothing but a few scars and a slight limp to show for it. I am back to doing what I love.....spending time with my family and hitting the gym. Yes I am a gym rat. As far as my cigar experience, not much to speak of.. I am a noobie and I am here to learn. I have a long list of suggested cigars that I am going through and marking off my list. I will get around to making a list on my profile of each and what I thought of them.
