"Words have consequences." is a children's idiom, which cannot even withstand the logic of the much older and demonstrably true "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me." Reality is the true state of existence, rather than someone's feelings.

Words definitely do not have consequences. They are nothing more than abstract concepts, completely void of agency. Genesis 1 does not ascribe consequences to God's words, even as He is said to be speaking existence into being.
