had a few of the CAO maddies and liked them. no experiences like what you describe.
but then again, i have had your type of experience with sticks that others rave about until the cows come home.
devastating turn of events to begin with. then the premature reports that turned out to be horrifically inaccurate
best wishes to those affected.
and as an afterthought, somebody's gonna be paying out the ass for this one
i would be a candidate for gastric bypass surgery and i don't want to be! i need to lose weight
deeper issue that lends to my overweightness is that i have never developed any real self discipline or "mental toughness"
i really need to buck up on that.
Not very versed in either Scotch or Irish, but know that I really only care to mess with single malt in either category.
As far as Irish whiskey, I've tried a couple. The only one I remember was Knappogue Castle. Long time ago, but I remember smoothness. Perhaps one dimensional for a Scotch...
HA!
I read the title of the thread and thought it would be about how many college bowl games there are these days. And some aren't even sponsors for existing bowl games - they invent bowl games and call them "Outback Bowl" and such
sorry for the threadjack.
nice review kev
i got some 2nds off cbid as well. they were unbanded
i felt myself trying to "chew" the flavor from these babies. i'm not good on "floral notes" "leather" etc, but it was damn good
i also concur with the RP sungrown. had one from a trade and fell in love.
RP is really coming...
Party Blacks are on my favs list
so are the Dark Knights
Two of the best readily available maduros in my opinion
i would also suggest the HdM Dark Sumatra
And I'm sure everyone knows of the CAO Brazilias
re: JdN Antanos - these have great flavor, but they knock me flat on my ass...
the ones i've had were inconsistent. the good ones were very well constructed with a flawless burn. the spice was not overpowering and there was some smoothness that emerged once it got going.
the ones that were not up to part burned erratically and the spiceness just flowed into harshness

I got one of the maduros on this deal as well. I thought the construction was impeccable. The flavor was good. I don't remember the price range, but if modestly priced, they might be good to grab hold of.
